Actually they're not under Sony label anymore. Their contract expired with their previous album (Riot Act) and signed with "J Records". Apparently they have a deal with Sony to handle worldwide distribution, but that's all.
I've been "playing" Orbiter for over a year and it's an amazing piece of software. Beware it's nothing like those space combats games, this is a simulator with real physics. That's why it's very tough to control the first times you "play" it. But believe me, once you know the basic controls, how to read the different HUD, how to use the on-board computer and some basic space travel physics you'll be blown away by this simulator. BTW, print the manual, you'll need it.
Launching the Shuttle into a low orbit is pretty easy, things get interesting when you try to recreate a Lunar landing mission, very cool. I still remember my first Mars landing, boy, that was tough:-).
There're a few projects using Orbiter, one of my favourites is SimNASA. As you may guess it's a virtual NASA, you can join the agency and start being trained for future missions.
I can't believe this article doesn't mention Beagle II is part of the Mars Express mission. Beagle II is a piggyback probe ridding on the Mars Express orbiter which will be launched in a few days. While Beagle II will search for life on Mars, the orbiter will take pictures (different wavelenghts), gather atmospheric data, radar map the surface and relay Beagle II data back to Earth.
It's called Puretunes. It's a subscription based service and they seem to have a rather broad catalog. I don't like the MP3 are 128kbps and download speed is quite slow. The good news is they're giving away 25 songs upon registration.
I guess Intel meant the surface of the Sun. This outer layer (photosphere) has a temperature of 6000C aprox. Yeah, it's damn hot but quite below from the 15000000C of the core (where the nuclear reactions take place).
Molten lava temperature is ~1000C so only 5000C to go:-)
I don't know what you mean with "power" but the EU could eventually ban Microsoft's products in 15 countries across Europe. This would seriously hurt M$ figures.
Of course, some EU members could disobey this ban but then they would face severe penalties. It happens all the time.
Anyway, no country seems to be very happy with M$ here in Europe these days so i'd bet there wouldn't be any complains if EU comission bans M$ products.
Let's face it, people wouldn't join the euro much more coz of historical/sentimental reasons than after analyzing the pros and cons in the country's economy.
BTW, probably 2/3 of Germans or Brits (or put_your_favourite_country_here) believe in God but unfortunately that doesn't mean he exists, you get the picture?.
You're right this isn't news at all. X-Plane has supported Mars environment almost for a year. Anyways, i find the shuttle reentry much more enjoyable:-)
This is not news at all, it's well known you shouldn't buy a multiregion player but a "region selectable" player. Before i'd buy a new player i'd make sure there're hacks available for that player.
You're wrong. Unemployment rate is high but NOT in the tech bussiness. Cost of living is lower than in the US (you can't compare cost of living in Madrid with a small village in Iowa, compare it with NY, Chicago,...).
Lazy hours? (Siesta NOT Ciesta)? Come on, this is the same story over and over. Then i'd say i wouldn't run a bussiness in the US because they're all just crazy cowboys. Anyway, every animal evolved in warm areas (as we did in Africa) are genetically programmed to take a nap during the warmest time of the day (2-4PM), even the flies are programmed for that naps. So almost every human will adopt that behaviour if (s)he can afford it. The problem is now we (yes, i live in Spain) can't afford it as we're forced to work more and more hours.
I pray to God we'll never have to work as many hours as you US people work, hell, i just work to live, so life is that thing than happens when you're NOT working, and i want to enjoy life as much as i can. That's all, no LAZYNESS bullshit.
I hate when people talk about what they don't know.
I'm the author of the proggy Tom used as one of the benchmarks, the unix solar system simulation as he called:-). He didn't put a link so just in case you want to give it a try you can found it right here.
However, i have to tell you this a rather old program and maybe not the most suitable for benchmarking a new generation 3D cards (like the GeForce).
Do you think we'll see smarter than human computers someday? If so, don't you think it's possible computers would help with current theories or even come up with new ones?

Honey, is that a GameBoy in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
Oops, forget the SimNASA paragrah. I should read the stories more carefully.
Sorry

Take a look at the mission facts.

Some time ago James Hastings-Trew put together a very nice Earth map from public domain data he found over the net.
:-)
Earth's free, as in beer, of course
Posted on the wrong story, sorry
This brings a whole new dimension to the "Send & Receive" button. I'll train my finger to be in good shape by 2010 :-)
Wait a minute, CmdrTaco said he was clicking the button every 5 secs the other day, maybe he knows something we don't?

Yep. i'm Raul. Maybe one of these days we'll be slashdotized and get a few thoushand hits, you listening CmdrTaco? :-)
Thanks Flo.
