Because Wine is a reimplementation of the Win32 API it will always be playing catch up with Microsoft's changes to the interface. When you play a perpetual game of catch up you will never actually catch up.

The biggest problem was the Win/OS2 holodeck that allowed vendors to say they supported OS/2 without having to write a native port. Using Wine as a substitute for native ports (as others here have suggested) would continue that same flawed strategy that only works if there is already a large portfolio of native software.

Having studied political science and economics the statements I quoted do capture the essence of communism and anarchism accurately enough for the purposes of this discussion. My goal was not to provide an in depth contrast and comparison of those two concepts. If that's what you're looking for or expect then I suggest you find a site dedicated to discussion of political/economic theories.

As to you comments on my choice of Wikipedia as a source, if you can find sources that you believe are more accurate and contradict the quotes I provided then I encourage you to post them. I have no problem with constructive criticism but if you're going to criticize the source then you could at least back it up.

Communism in it's true form is more akin to anarchism

You might want to do a little reading before making statements like that.

Anarchism is a "political philosophy encompassing theories and attitudes which support the elimination of all compulsory government". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anarchism

Communism is a "socioeconomic structure that promotes the establishment of an egalitarian, classless, stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production and property in general". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism

Anarchism and communism are about as "akin" as apples and kangaroos.

In general, artists get paid well below other professions (and well below what they contracted for). Work is intermittent (Jon Pertwee used to say actors spend 95% of their time unemployed).

Well they did choose that line of work didn't they. No one forced them into it.

And if an artist is still getting royalties after 95 years they're not likely one of the artists on the bottom end of the pay scale that need protecting. As has been mentioned here by others, this extension is to protect the record labels and copyright holders who are very likely not the original artists.

A 95 year protection would be acceptable to me only if it was to the original artist and not transferable. If you buy the rights maybe you only get 25 years protection.

An audio CD or DVD is not an application. The autorun on a CD/DVD is to install the DRM "enforcer" on your computer. By holding down the shift key when inserting the disk into a Windows machine (or inserting it into a Mac or Linux PC) you would be able to freely rip the disk but you would be circumventing the DRM and would be in violation of this new law.
