    What's needed is a mucisians guild that ensure that coprporation does not use such unfair contracts.

    In films there exists - among others - a screen writers guild that make sure athat all screeenwriters gets a fair contract.

    Thats the only thing that works when the cooporations become too powerful. It may not prevent all cases of unfair advantages by the corporation, but should most certainly make life easier for many artists in the music field.

    Actually, what they basically say are that one should never use hash tables where one want good performance.

    Wish people would stop using hash tables altoghether.

    I've never used one in a real program.

    Yes, and that is the most strange part of the story - given that they have that many testeras - how come they cant find such a simple error that affekt so many people ?

    The tests should test what people use and make sure everything works perfectly.

    Any executable file sent via email then
    can be a virus...

    If you have a problem with how this works you
    probably are downloading way too many executable files.

    Yes - I find it good security feature if you have to deliberatly make a file executable.

    Really ? Can you cite a source for that ?

    Actually it's not even illegal to download a song you DON'T own.

    One Swedish minister publicly admitted to doing that and even creating an audio CD which was given to a friend - the prosecutors did not see it as a crime here in Sweden.

    Distributing copyrighted material can be a crime under certain conditions.

    It's probably compromised of people that:

    - Don't know how to operate a computor and never will. Old folks who think they are too old too learn, mental handicapped porple etc.

    - People who are too poor to afford a computer.

    - Those that don't have it for religion, traditional or ethics reasons.

    - People who may not own their own computor - like criminals etc.

    - However the largest part is probably people who are too poor to afford a computer.

    Osama would probably never have been a terrorist had not US had an base in Saudi.

    The reason US has a base in Saudia is to protect
    the oil trade.

    The reason US is attacking Iraq is to gain a base there and sexure the oil.

    BTW Saudi is ruled by a US friendly dictator - but still a dictator.

    Linux is a secure multi-user computer system where not anyone can tamper with the contents in the hard drive.

    I would never let anyone add their own account on my computer!

    On the other hand IIS has lost a big part if its market share the last year. IIS has lost nearly 1 in 5. Which seam to have gone towards Apache - probably because of the inroads Linux has made in the serrver market but also because of Red Code Worm and Nimba that hit many IIS users hard.

    In the last 12 months Apacha has 2 miljon more sites while IIS only have 1 miljon more sites.
    So even though Micsosoft has a large part of the server market - people do not use them as web server. With Linux ever increasing share of the server market we'll probably see a continuation of this scenario where IIS share of the total market continues to drop in favour of Apache or other webservers who run on Linux systems.

    So yes most servers have an inreasd the numbers of new users - but thats because the Internet market still grows very fast.

    Acutally most end users want a computer that they can use to write documents, surf the web and play games. Well maybe do their taxes and some financial accounting but not much more.

    Most users don't care which operating system tha computer uses - as long as it works for them.

    Most of theses users would be just as happy with Linux - sating that they want a special product is ignorant. .

    I can always telnet to a UNIX box - regardless if you remove telnetd or not.

    It just that I have to use another port :-)

    I've sent email and surfed the web using telnet !

    Telnet us very usefull to debug a port with a text protocol...

    However it's not a secure way to log in to a box!

    Actually they considere things like how long you are expeted to live, the fact that education is paid for by the state, that health care is paid for by the state for all, how many who are illiterate, standard of living and so on

    I.e. how good the average life is for someone living in the country.

    Actually your parents as your legal guardians agreed for you.

    And yes it means that you when you become of legal age must agree to the conditions or else can be subject to termination. (Depending in which country you live in)

    You may think of it as a joke but it's not. In alla countries all citizens must know the laws - not knowing the laws is not an legal defense. So yes thare are an EULA for life and it is called - the law.

    The only thing you can do about it is to emigrate or run för office to try and rectify the situation.

    Actually the direktive has a large number of options in it - just read the directive.

    Thr directive you can get it in other languages if you press the lanfuage you want on the right upper part of the web page.
