If you think your ass is hurting, how about the asses of all the developers who invested money to make games for it?
You know, if you can't swing $600 for a very new to the market high end luxury item item such as this, or if a total of $1500 blows your meal budget, perhaps you need to spend a bit more of your time, getting some education or working a bit harder to get a job that pays more so that you can afford luxuries like this, rather than gaming....eh?
Oh I make more than enough to pay for something like this. But I also have kids...... and their mother, aka my wife, is gonna have questions, serious questions, about $1,500+ for a new PC with dorky glasses that shut-out interacting with my family... But never forget a desperate man's ability to spin something. I'll figure something out eventually...
I'm not so sure about Ringworld. If you think about it, not much really happens in the movie that would hold the audience attention. They would have to punch it up with a lot more action. The Ringworld itself held our attention through the book, but I think someone sitting in the theater would be looking for something beyond it after the first 15 minutes of exposure.
Spend all your time in meetings and nagging lazy workers to do their job? Asking for money to develop improvements and being told you can't have the budget?"
Spoken by someone who is obviously a manager. It's one thing to deal with tech personality types as a co-worker, but once you're actually managing these people, christ, what a hair-puller.
The best way to get into management is to know someone in management, sorry to say. Either that or pull in crazy hours and always make sure you're visible and proactive. Good luck.
Besides the fact that you have to buy a special adapter to use your 650 with stereo headphones, how much battery life are you getting from playing music from your external SD card? My Treo 650 does not yet approach replacing my iPod. The battery life just isn't there for holding a radio signal, color 320x320 screen and reading music off an SD card. Not to mention using the controls to flip through your catalog of music is difficult when you are jogging or otherwise active. After buying a 2GB SD card to hold your music for your phone, you could just buy an iPod Flash. Almost there Palm, but not quite. Keep tryin', though (as if you were).
I use Airport Express with my Powerbook. However, one quickly runs out of space on a simple 60GB drive. I'm currently investigating storing my music on Linux (or Solaris with my existing Netra) and mounting my iTunes directory onto the Powerbook to play music through Airport Express. The same could be done with iPhoto images, I suppose.
> So all us short guys can forget about getting laid, huh? The first thing they say is "the guys are too short!" My best friend is "short" and has a serious problem with it. But, you know what? In spite of his insecurity and the shallowness of SF women (not that guys aren't), he's doing just fine. The trick? He learned to get over his shyness and insecurity. So, maybe 2/10 women he meets can't get past the height? 8/10 do and have. It's all about attitude, making yourself available and trying to have a good time regardless of whatever.
This is, for obvious reasons, an on-going topic for discussion with my friends, both male and female. It has been INCREDIBLY rough to meet women in SF (I imagine much worse on the peninsula). They can be very snobby and very rude. And they're really not all that great looking compared to midwestern girls. Every guy I know has been made quite bitter by the women of SF. It's a sorry state of affairs. Can't afford housing, can't get a decent partner, can't find parking. And The Man.com is working us too hard. Did I mention my cube has beige fabric on the walls? Ugh.
However, it's not quite as bad as I used to think. When I first moved to SF, 4 years ago, I couldn't even get a date. A year ago, however, something changed...
In college, I would have never gone to a bar that was labeled a "meat market". Now, as a hard working adult, I go to such places and guess what? My friends and I hook up. Am I meeting women I would like to have a relationship with? Certainly! But more often than not I find myself enjoying a lifestyle I never had in college. I have never had to talk a woman into going home with me. Somehow the tables have turned and every woman I've slept with in the last year has been the aggressor. I feel like I'm in Chicago...well, it's not THAT easy, but it has gotten a much better.
When we talk to women about how hard it is to meet people, they complain that guys in SF are either gay (total bs -- SF is more straight than ever), short or not gutsy enough to approach them. Guys complain about how unapproachable and snotty women are. Hm. Common theme buried somewhere in there? People can't do anything about their height and sexual orientation is not an issue in most social settings. However, approachability is the key.
Now, I have to admit, I'm pretty damn good looking;) and tall as well. However, I think that if guys would just find some buddies they like hanging out with and that don't embarrass them and actually GET OUT of the house and leave the DSL idle, they might actually have some sex. Don't be afraid of approaching women. And please don't use some stupid line. Just introduce yourself and try to appear normal. Every woman we've talked to has said the same thing. Guys just don't approach me and if they do, they scare me. Don't be scared and don't be scary, guys.
And please use protection...kids will kill your action;)

I wonder what this carnivorous humped bladderwort tastes like.

Sun appears to have pulled the images. Anyone manage to grab copies? Nothing on coral or google cache.
