I also went with the Supercard but its the full SD one (had too many Sd cards for my PDA to ditch them for another format). It sticks out of my Lite a bit but its fine. So far I have bought 9 games, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, Phoenix Wright, Trace Memory, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Feel The Magic, Tony Hawk American Skateland, Asphalt Urban GT, New Super Mario DS and Guilty Gear. Most of them are decent, ive purchased a few stinkers like Asphalt but overall they are fun and fairly non time consuming.

Well lets see so far I have Spider-Man, Lumines, GripShift, Untold Legends, GTA Liberty City Stories, ATV Offroad, Metal Gear Acid, Ridge Racer and Silent Hill. Maybe im just buying the wrong games but most of them play like ports of PS1 games with bad controls.

No need for knitting though, I took up the DS instead. Actually I think maybe the DS is why ive soured so much on my PSP. If i had nothing else I wouldnt have anything to complain about, there are just very few games for the PSP that are 5 minute time wasters and I dont have hours to sit around playing with it. Too many of the games require you to complete an entire long level or reach some drawn out objective before saving so more times than not I end up playing the same parts over and over until I either get time to follow through to the next save point or give up and throw the game on a shelf.

I bought mine at launch, have had it listed on Craigs List for almost 6 months and cant get rid of the thing so I guess my definition would be "paperweight".

The PSP is a brilliant piece of hardware, but 99% of the games suck, im not stupid enough to buy my movies over again and its too freakin big for an mp3 player, so most of the time it sits on the desk waiting for some game to come out that I might actually enjoy. Its pretty sad when the best game on the platform is the first one that was launched with it (Lumines). Oh well, at least there is Lumines 2 on the way.

But it also means minus the hype..the buzz..the sitting around watching video game news for a week. For as much of a pain in the ass the fanboys might be if it werent for them no one would give a flip about E3. The only thing that scaling back E3 is going to accomplish in the long run is ensure that small developers have a harder time getting their games published and bigger companies can freely continue to shovel out crap. E3 has always been about hype and press, yes deals occasionally got made but even most of those were the results of the buzz.

This must be from the same guy that thought that non skippable anti-piracy propaganda at the begining of legitimately purchased dvd's and before movies at the theatre would be a good idea. Sure I'd love to buy my music again, limit my ability to play it even further and pay more for the privilege in exchange for some poorly done drm'ed digital versions that I could have done a better job of myself provided I had the CD.

Id really like to see what kind of money is wasted at crap like this and new methods of DRM, sometimes I think the "war on piracy" is costing companies more than the realistic amount of money lost becasue of it.

Did you bother to read what was posted. The point wasnt that MS was making money hand over fist..it was that even if the Xbox360 was a complete failure it wasnt going to hurt MS's bottomline too much they could afford a flop. Sony however has been loosing money in almost every market they are in, they have put all their eggs in one basket and the PS3 has to at least be moderately successful or it could be disasterous for the entire company.

  11. Re:The IT staff isnt usually the problem on Nine Ways to Stop Industrial Espionage · · Score: 1

Yep thats why I dont bother with 2 week notices (well i give one but with no intention of actually staying). This is one of those paranoid practices which leads to the employees that will sell you out. Employers practically demand two weeks notice yet all to often will screw the employee who is leaving the company out of the last paycheck or vacation time in the name of security. The lesson is to assume they are going to do this and when you plan to leave make the plans in advance with that two weeks basically counted as time off without pay.

  12. The IT staff isnt usually the problem on Nine Ways to Stop Industrial Espionage · · Score: 1

In the last company I was with the bigger problem were the masses of employees that had their passwords taped to their monitor. Or the overly helpful ones that would open and hold the secured doors just because they saw someone holding a box. Want free access to the processing room and card cutter, just tell them your deliving flowers. Most IT staff's are at least competent enough to guard against the obvious. With social engineering so easy to do, why would someone bother with trying to sway those who generally know better? If your IT people are that untrustworthy you probably either need to screen better employees or take a look at what you might be doing to make them willing to sell you out for a song.

Nice solution I guess if you want a ghetto antenna next to your window, but it reminds me of my friends little brother. He was unhappy with his remote control cars range so he took a backpack and mounted a huge CB whip antenna to it and wired the antenna of the remote to the backpack. Dipole be damned, he claimed it made the car's range better. Of course he looked like a complete tard running around the street, but that wasnt unusual for him.

  15. The value of E3 is underrated on The End of E3? · · Score: 1

It may not make sense from a game companies point of view but only in the sense of tangibles, the intangible value is being largely ignored. I have a feeling the "dissatisfaction" with e3 was brought on by the larger companies such as EA or Sony. E3 can be a scary place for them because with the exception of booth size advertising dollars mean nothing there, its put up or shut up. Look at the results of this years E3, Nintendo gets a huge boost, Sony pisses down its leg, a few small developers get some much needed press and the rest is pretty much business as usual. Scaling down just means more expensive real estate for the big guys and no room for the little ones.

The hype that surrounds E3 is viral and the show and attendees are only the begining. Websites basically shut down for a week covering nothing but news from the show. The Wii has gone from complete underdog to possible champion mainly due to E3 so how can it no longer be valuable for a company that actually has something to prove? The bottom line is if you cant stand up to your own hype then E3 is a disaster waiting to happen, if you let the products do the talkig and have something to show E3 can be all the difference in the world.

I suddenly couldnt fix the simplest problem, I let their computer sit unusable and those that wanted one bought Hp's or Dells and it became those companies problems. I was my experience that the 'piece of crap' mentioned in the article was usually sitting in the computer chair rather than on the desk.

Other like my mother for example, have always made a point of watching and writing down things when im fixing common problems and have become nearly self-sufficient, they still call when there is a big problem but are almost appologetic in doing so. How does a company that makes plastic bricks loose over 200 million in one year? Im sure that the new mindstorms will help boost the bottom line but I cant help but think LEGO's biggest problem was when they went away from generic build kits to licensed sets with highly proprietary (i.e. unusable for much else) pieces. Is it that kids arent as creative today or does LEGO just keep them from being able to be creative? Part of what made LEGO's col in my day was that you could create just about anything you could think up. When I was a kid UI was able to build an entire rebel base for my star wars figures with a blanket and lego bricks but today I have to buy a $75 kit. Todays sets appear to be more of a model kit than a creative toy.
