Wifi sense does not seem to be insecure in the least. It is as secure as you telling your friend your password. And it is as deliberate too. If you want to troll, at least make sure you are accurate.
Exactly what went through my head:( This is one of the thinkpads from the golden era. It is super small, the keyboard has proper keys (not those chiclet crap), and the only pointer input is the nipple. I bet the battery must have lasted 10-12 hours too.
Don't worry, that's just your shitty choice in hardware. My new Ultrabook has 4 USB 3.0 ports, a DisplayPort, a VGA port, an Ethernet port and couple others that I haven't bothered to figure out.
Yeah, imagine what would happen if some mobile app (say Facebook) would make their own notification center separate form the one in Android and push all messages to that. It would be utter shit and people wouldn't use it for one second. Then why not the same in desktop? I am using the OS I am using because I mostly like it, and I like the way it does things. So just respect that and let the OS handle notifications. Maybe this is what they plan to do from now on. Notifications certainly are useful for some stuff (gmail, whatsapp). And I don't want that floating grey piece-of-shit fading in and blocking everything and getting lost unless I click it right then.
They feel like they're making this awesome stuff but nobody wants to use it. The notification system is a nice example to see why. Windows and Mac both have their own notification systems. They're both very nice, reasonably out-of-the-way and very well integrated with the OS. They both have well-documented APIs that every app uses. But Chrome? No sir. We'll die before we do not reinvent the fucking nut treads on the wheel. I hate it because of it being so intrusive and not respecting any OS design and policy.
I agree that Android devices are computers. But iOS? Nope. They are special-purpose appliances built to run software that comes only from the iStore. Until I can access a terminal right on the device, write a C program, compile it with the GNU compiler, and run it right there, it is not a 'computer'.
I have to use Skype to talk to my wife, and it kills my battery in less than thirty minutes. Facebook's chat doesn't have a noticeable effect on battery life.
Yeah, who would have thought video calls take more battery than text chats! The injustice!
But isn't that usefulness lost if people can enter any random name? I think your use-case and the use-case of people who want fake names to be allowed are mutually exclusive. If someone wants to hide, then don't be on Facebook. It's pretty simple.
Well, apart from the fact that we spent years fixing leaks and usually have the best memory usage of any browser.
I'd like to see some data on that claim. Because all I have seen in my usage and in random internet reviews is that firefox consistently uses the most memory and runs the slowest (lately even IE has become faster).
This is bullshit. Your settings basically turn off session restore. I might as well switch to links. What is the point of using a modern browser if I have to turn off it's modern features?
Since you are not gonna trust anyone's word for it, being open source should be a big plus for you. You can look at the source and build it yourself. No need to trust anyone new. Otherwise just listen to people who know and stop using that sell-out bloated piece of shit known as adblock plus.
Despite evidence like this which speaks volumes about government intervention in what is a free-market area of expertise, we still have so many people clamoring for the government to offer all kinds of services like healthcare, telephone, internet, etc.
Actually, benchmarks are not at all part of advertising. Only specs are part of advertising. Whether the components will run so and so game at so and so fps for so and so period of time is never advertised. That is something people measure and tell other people to help them make a buying decision. If your testing methodology is flawed (most benchmarks are), you are at fault.
Exactly this. I was confused till now that how can the car understand it's undergoing emission testing if I insert a probe into the tailpipe. Now I realize that all of you are talking about reading data from the sensors over OBD. That's just stupid. That's like benchmarking a computer by reading the specs. Emissions testing means capturing the smoke out of the exhaust and analyzing it. That's how it's done in my country and that's the only proper way to do it.
After years of reading your comments harping on about messing with the hosts file, and not doing anything about it because it is too much work, I am gonna download your program and try it out. Hope it works as well as you think it does.
Letting the user customize anything is against iOS design principles. The most they can be allowed to control is an on/off button. Any more than that, and you might as well shoot yourself in the foot.
You yourself said it can't be an app and then you proceeded to link me some apps? Point is that this "feature" has been on android for a long long time. You don't know any details about how big apple's gifs are going to be or how well the thing is gonna work. It works pretty well on S4, and the quality is good. You can even choose the areas you want to animate and those you want to remain static. It's fun but it's just that: a gimmick. And that is exactly what it's gonna be on ios.
Also, Nokia phones also had this built in. Also, zoe is an in built app for htc phones.

Also, that poor thinkpad :(

how I have only one USB port

Mine are labeled, but in the file system, not on the plastic itself.

Why can't git be updated to just use another algorithm? I guess that would be a much better solution than just moving to something else.

Are the fonts always that hideous on your OS (whatever it is) or have you customized them to look ugly as fuck?
I just want to say that all the 100 or so people at my previous office used Jira and Chrome with no problems whatsoever.

Edge doesn't do anything. It's like you didn't even write anything.

Samsung animated photo and htc zoe. Seek the truth and ye shall find it.
DSLR quality? Are these guys for real? I cannot believe the stupidity. Next you will say the ipad pro has a CPU comparable to desktop CPUs.
Samsung has had hover and moving photos for quite a while now. Really depressing to so such idiocy on slashdot.
