Me installing firefox does NOT mean I want IE disabled.
Ah, you may like it to be there. Not everyone does. And that's the crux of the matter... Having the freedom to choose. Which of course nobody cares about when they choose to go with the majority. Fortunately, the EU understands that the rights of minorities are more important.
that's new. i always thought the rights of the majority were more important in a democratic system.
software engineers get a SALARY. maybe you didn't know that?
yeah he knows that, i'm sure. and the point is that the musician knew before making any music that he would not get a salary in music-making. he knew that his revenue would have to come from record sales, which are inherently unpredictable and risk prone. so if you made a choice, don't whine later if you did not consider the risks and rewards properly. it's a bit like i invest all my money in the stocks and when the market crashes iwhine about where am i going to get money for a living.
I'd rather have justice carried out by qualified professionals without political agendas.
Let me know when you find some;)
okay so that is a terribly smart thing to say. but actually trained professionals are highly educated and responsible citizens. they are much less likely to be biased than a layman.
Of course, if it doesn't, you have the source so fix it yourself.
Sorry, what planet were you from again? Telling Aunt Mildred "you have the source, so fix it yourself" isn't going to fly.
As for trotting out apple, you're hopelessly naive if you think that microsoft won't kill the OSX version of silverlight the minute apple's market share gets a little bigger than microsoft would like.
For the government to put microsoft firmly in control of a lever by which which can hurt its competitors as much as it likes is like putting the proverbial fox in charge of the henhouse.
its not only europe and japan. even here in india we've had 3g twin video camera phones for atleast like three years. iphone just cant keep up when you compare its features with another phone. but its ui is something that can't be objectively compared, its so ahead of any thing else.
my point exactly. i just cant think why java apps have to be so damn bloated. i mean if you can write cpp code for utorrent in 250kb, you need 10mb of java code for vuze?
okay, i can understand that on ie6.
well, i don't know about nowadays. but in my school it took me exactly 0.00 seconds to get in and out. is this any better than that?
i'm gonna say only this: read the fucking summary
How about when IE crashes it DOESN'T take down file explorer with it?
well it doesn't.
hell, in ie8 even the tabs are crash independent. one crashed tab will not take down ie, much less file explorer.

the figures can be objectively compared because they are per 100000 people, not the absolute value.
"Jury trial" is no "right" to "not have" if the judicial system is different.
well that was exactly what he was asking. couldn't you just answer?
Of course, if it doesn't, you have the source so fix it yourself.

yeah and aunt mildred uses linux.
creativity is now a "mashup" or a "remix" of older works because it is impossible to create anything new - it has all been done before.
that's a really huge thing to say, my dear sir!
whoosh!!
As long as your surname isn't Buttle.
corrected now. please people use the proper spellings!

i think you did more research than gp.
you don't have to do any extra configuration. just download the latest thunderbird 3 and choose the gmail imap when it asks you.
It's good to see that they're very slowly catching up to what other free e-mail providers that started years after them already offer.
well, i don't know any webmail that offers free pop/imap except gmail. do you know any?
If it's a GSM network, then the cell towers do transmit a country ID. My phone says it is connected to an "O2 - UK" tower at the moment.
i don't think that is a country id. it's just that they include 'uk' in the operator name. to the cellphone it does not mean anything.
> Google Mail does it, too, although Ithink it is only used for the "new mail"sound, and maybe for video chat.
wait a second, gmail has a 'new mail' sound? i've never heard it.
Not only is the iPhone completely Adobe Flash-free, but iPhones also make up around 50% of mobile web traffic worldwide.

shhh... we don't talk about that here.
Nothing for you to see here. Please move along.

well nothing of that sort happens when you update firefox. you must have installed some sort of crap from yahoo, like messenger.
You consider IE an innovation for PC industry to move further? Maybe further into sh*t...
whoosh!
exactly. the clear winner in the long run seems to be android.
