Good luck with that. Welfare in Illinois gives mothers more money if they have more kids. Been that way for the last 30 years. I think if people have kids they should have to pay. I do. My kids are in private school and I still have my property taxes paying to upkeep the public schools where I wouldn't want my kids attending. The people who use the service should be the ones paying for it. Enough said.

My Question is will this stop Comcast from messing with users like me (previous) that were using Vonage for phone service? Since they came out with their own phone service my connection to Vonage couldn't stay connected for a conversation without dropouts and lags and echos. My previous provider (same system) I never had problems and I was a customer since 2002. I have since dropped Vonage and went totally cellular. The only thing that sucks is I can't fax from home anymore. :( I have a feeling this will create more issues then it resolves. Hell I can't even play World of Warcraft on it anymore. 10 mb down and 1 up. Too much latency. What a joke!!!

I found this post interesting. Why? Because I am a Comcast subscriber that came on through a buyout. I use Vonage for my house phone. As soon as Comcast announced their phone service my Vonage service has been spotty at best. With the addition of more on demand content now the internet is slower. I have complained to them and had them replace cables and do tests. Magically things get resolved for a day or 2 at most then back to the same ole drop outs and slow internet. If I had another choice I would drop them like a bad habit. I originally had @ home and it was great. My local cable company (when they were local) took over and things were better. Went from 6 to 10 g down and up to 1 G up. Comcast buys em out and things have gone down hill. Not just me but all my neighbors have the same issues. You call and they just don't care. Just pay the bill or they will shut you off.

Their prices were competitive with services like Vonage or Comcast. I am using Vonage because my only landline option was Verizon and they are horrible. Base rate of the phone was around 50 bucks a month then every phone call outbound was a charge. So my bills were running over 60 and sometimes 70 bucks a month!!! Sorry that is just way too much. Vonage 33 bucks with taxes plus I can control those pesky telemarketers and people who are blocking their telephone number from getting through. Try to get that with a landline. Not without paying a premium. To prevent telemarketing calls keep your phone number unlisted, sign up for the do not call registry and when you don't know who is calling don't friggin answer it. Took less then a month and no more unwanted calls!!!

This seems to happen with large companies alot these days. Corporate greed. M$ needs to reinvent themselves by giving back to the PC users at large. Not giving away Windows 7 but should be a considerable discount if you have Windows Vista already registered with them you should get 7 at the pre order price even after July 11th. They should also give some money/time to open source for interoperability. Instead of demonizing the Open Source Revolution they should embrace it. Stop thinking about market share all the time and start thinking about what is in the best interest of the PC user. If they could only do that M$ would be beat up as bad. If the game play is really good and the graphics suck you will at least get some followers. Balancing these is the key. Game developers in some companies haven't figured that out yet.
