I don't see how a big crunch or lack of the same makes life have a point. I belive life does have a point but that has nothing to do with science or the big bang. If you want to see a point to life I think you will have to look somewhere other than physics or biology. (Ok In biology there is a goal, reproduce but I digress). If you want to know what the point to life is ask your local priest, minister or rabbi. (Check the local pub they are probably having a drink together...)

And if the only reason that you are there is to get a piece of paper then you are waisting a good deal of money. There is a lot that you realy do need a good teacher for.

The Same no, but they did use some of the same text books etc. If someone is trying to develop a class at some university they will be able to look at MIT's stuff online and use it as a place to start. This could be very helpfull to someone.

Yes people will pick nits with your code. But if you know when you write it it helps you to write code carefully. And you know there is no programer in the world so great that they can not learn something from someone else. And none so great that they do not ever make mistakes.

If you can't take someone looking at your code at pointin out bugs you should not be a professional programer. Life involved dealing with stuff like this.

In the UK and many commonwealth countries the commons has more or less total control of the goverment policy with very few check on it. If Tony Blair wants to do something there is not a lot that can really stop him. In Israel and many of the EU countries the need to keep a governing coalition together often results in small parties having power all out of perportaion to their size.

Japan and Mexico have for many years been de-facto 1 party states. (Mexico seems to be getting over it). Much of the 3rd world is run by thugs and dictators who have managed to skim billions while their countries go to hell.

For example use of public land for ranching is probably very important in places like montana, here in New Hampshire we probably don't care.
