It was the right thing to escalate the issue.
#1 The teacher is not a legal representative of the school district (unless it involves the safety of the child) and should direct any/suspected/ illegal activities to admin/legal/or ISD police force.
#2 Admin has a part to play in educating the teachers and staff on what is allowed on school grounds. Admin also plays a part in hosting inservices(sp?) where teachers/staff will be 'trained' on new policies ie pirating, software use, teaching techniques etc.
#3 This educator needed to be taken down a notch. If your going to spit off flaming bullet e-mails you better have your facts checked. Justbleepinggoogleit would have saved this teacher a lot of embarrasment.
Get the jump on some unposted policies and you have can put together a 2 market positions before the election is complete and enact the gameplan to fit who won the election.
With the stockmarket volatility some cash can be made if you can confirm a policy decision ahead of the pack.
There are posters and little signs next to lab macs and PCs at Universities reminding students about copyright violations... asking "Are you legal". This goes for State, Private and community colleges.

I'm going to have to disagree. IT should still be in moderate demand. The reason is that institutions have to do even more due diligence and financial reporting and be more transparent than ever.
As long as your skills are up to date and you can add some refresher courses in finance. More programming is going to be needed for the extra detail that makes up and will need to be available to support the vaules of Mortgage derivatives. As well as more farm servers to crunch all this new data.
