    We need a mechanism to allow residents to vote for polls exactly once. Once it gets a certain number of votes, it goes on the general ballot.

    As you can see, it takes months and years for prices to adjust to reasonable bounds.

    Either the smart people are not too smart, or the dumb people have more control than you think.

    The stock market makes it easier to find dumb people.

    Or perhaps you did not read the article, but are referring to the quote in the ./ story. It is not as bad as you make it out to be, but is clearer in the context of the article.

    Suppose a defendant shows up every day and loses the case in a court with jurisdiction in country A.

    Suppose the defendant does not live in or operate in country A. Suppose the defendant leaves country A and never comes back.

    How is the ruling going to be enforced?

    No, I mean to say that they vote based on real issues, not on media circus issues, thus are much harder to trick into voting for you.

    It is simpler than that. The scientific thinkers have thought and decided what platforms they support and determined who they are going to vote for.

    The anti-science people have not, and are easily swayed by rhetoric and political theater.

    Politicians go after the easily swayed.

    Like all wars, the Civil War was all about power. Those in power in the states that seceded started the war to keep their power. They wanted to keep slavery in place to retain their power.

    And like all wars, the weak men fought the powerful men's war. Why they fought is another issue entirely. But they did not start or control the war, they were pawns.

    I plan on homeschooling my children. They will be socialized just fine. They have frequent interaction with other children and adults. There is a school next to my house, we take them to the playground and they play with other children. We have friends and they have friends. They meet people. They have peers. They are not isolated.

    I do not have any fringe ideologies with which to indoctrinate them.

    What makes you imagine that fringe ideology, brainwashing, and isolation are so tightly tied to homeschooling?

    Fine. Then sue them for defamation. We have a legal system for that. Do not let the school administrators be judge and jury for something that happened outside of school.

    Homeschooling parents to not have to deal with an outside authority figure overstepping his bounds. The parents have a right to discipline their own children, regardless of the time and place of the transgression.
