Uhh, the blood was pink is Star Trek VI to get under an R-rating, and get a PG-13 one. It was later explained that the "weightlessness" somehow made it lighter in color... Every other time we've seen Klingon blood its been dark red.
Uhhhhh. No. Think Voyager, B'lana is HALF and her child is a FOUTH and we KNOW she didn't give her any "Drugs/vitamins/whatever" to give her the ridges. Hello!
I understand its illegal, but people are doing it anyway. In fact, in a recent slashdot article, someone commented on the fact that their organization was doing this, albeit illegally. Whats worse than deliberately blocking it, is when it just doesn't work. We were at a new ritzy mall in north dallas, way ritzier than anyplace I could shop on my current income, getting chinese food. We dropped into the Mac store to drool over the Canon XL1 they had hooked up via firewire to a dual G4, and noticed every cell phone we had (6 people, 5 phones) lost signal IN THE STORE ONLY. A guy working there said "Yea, for reason this location does that, that shit didn't happen when the store was on the other side of the mall" Weird eh?
In class are just as big if not a bigger distraction, and yet they don't have giant RF emitters that block these signals in classrooms do they? This is almost the same thing, except its the internet, and well, the schools internet, especially when you are in a school lab.... But hey, its your education, if you'd rather be on Aim (getting help from the Jabber using Unix geek on your floor, during class) than listening to some Profs teaching assistant, uhh, yea. Do it.
I bought original Hacking Exposed a while back, and then the second edition came out and I felt shafted... But then I moved in with a new room-mate who had the second edition and all was well again. It will probably be a race to see which of us can get this one first....
I love the previous books from these guys though, very detailed, and great info. Everyone should pick it up.
Its because most users aren't setting up linux/BSD boxes for firewalls, they are installing ZoneAlarm and BlackIce, both of which SUCK and just cause problems. I've seen (over the phone...) ZoneAlarm block DHCP broadcasts. The uses is just trying to release/renew their IP, and ZoneAlarm pops up a window saying "I saved you from hackers trying to phone home!" Its fucking queer.
Yes, I may bitch about how much I "hated" Episode I, but I'll be damned if I didn't pre-order the VHS (lost it too, dammit!) now I'll be damned if I don't order the DVD.... Its only money.
You are the kind of jackass who calls me bitching that you aren't getting good speed while you are downloading at 118KBps from download.com, cause they thought a mebagit was 1024KBps not 1024Kbps.
1984, Brave New World, uhhh whats some other trite analogies. If the "Net" is really going to expand and cover the actual globe, take over every aspect of life, and not crash under its own weight, a system like this, as much as the real geeks would hate it at first, will be necessary. Now granted, I'm thinking fairly far into the future, but the current system deosn't really cut it as far as absolutely guranteeing identity. Privacy should be retained yes, and this system probably isn't going to be the one, but a few false-starts are sure to happen before we find the "right" combination.
For some reason when I think AMD, I think of shitty VIA chipsets that have fucked up compatiblely issues with my favorite Video Card makers stuff. (I had a Riva128, 4 meg, Played the Quake3 IHV really well actually on my PII-233).
If this is no longer the case with AMD, I might have to go that route.
I'm running a Coppermine 850 right now, and at the time it was a sensible upgrade from my Katmai 450, just as the 450 was a good upgrade from the PII 233 before it. But right now I'm scratching my head. My next CPU upgrade will most likely require a new Motherboard as well, so I now have the freedom to go to a completely NEW architecture. (The ABIT BX6 will probably go in our media box) But I don't really want a P4, the Itanium definitely isn't for what I do, and I have never really been an AMD fan, I just don't know their stuff. So where is Intels next chip for ME?
Remember when everyone was bitching because it seemed like every new game that came out was a FPS? Then for a while they were RTS, and now it seems every time I turn around, a new MMORPG is announced. The fight for the control of THAT market is going to be ugly. Most people will buy multiple $50 titles, but not when each title also requires a subscription. Sure SOME people will buy every one, and play them, but I'm playing the odds here. Most people will probably pick ONE they like and stick with it.
Via some sort of 100 megabit ethernet connection I'm sure...
Don't you know all the original cartridges are stored in a nuclear-safe safe, and he merely has them "backed up" onto roms either inside the machine or a network hop or two away:)
Thats what mine does anyway, no cool case though:(
Bitching should be done to the people at your "local office" and then you should politely complain to the techs on the phone, and ask that they inform their supervisors how upset you are.
Because Star Trek VI was an abberration in that respect :)

Maybe explainable later, but hasn't been yet.
