that's the year when we prove string theory and compact extra dimensions as well as finding out what REALLY happens when you get sucked into a black hole...
let's see it as an opportunity rather than an apocalypse.
I STILL don't find anything to rant and rave about when people start talking about SSDs....having worked for a fair while as IT technician I've seen some Netbooks come in with major hardware failures and when they're in guarantee we have to send them off to Acer elsewhere in the coutry, and they have a "I don't give a crap about your documents" policy that means that they format your C:/ Drive
also meaning if the customer has documents that need saving we (currently anyway) don't have any way of recovering those documents from a SSD....just thought you'd like to know if your computer habits usually end in visits to IT Assistance...
don't they cripple the version they sell anyway?
I don't remember seeing anything about Bill Gates' pc crashing randomly or failing miserably when they put unsupported drivers in...or blinding him with the "oh so glorious light" of the Blue Screen Of Death...

surely it's a bad analogy...they're talking about what's outside forming around object in the centre (galaxy to black hole)
but making the analogy with what's formed in the centre with what's on the outside (pearl to grit)....
how can a pearl be formed AROUND grit???? surely the grit is around the pearl once formed...

and most importantly: do we really care? it's still a damn sight faster imho than windows or ( the blasphemy of IT: ) mac.
Avira AntiVir all the way. best freebie i've found in a while.
I used AVG for a while as they used that at my school but when it wasn't hitting any viruses i got worried and chaged it seeing as my computer was running very slowly. changed it to Avira and hit 30 trojans in one go.
one thing to bear in mind though: go though the advanced instal and put on max protection and remove TeaTimer. runs better than most payed antiviruses. the ad IS annoying but you get used to it. it updates automatically every 24 hours and it tells you when you haven't updated after 3 days not 7 like mcafee..
