The disintegration of family life is most definitely to blame in part. Near where I live two nine year olds just burned down the local McDonalds. These children were "well known to police". NINE YEARS OLD! That has nothing to do with outlets for violence and everything to do with shitty parenting.
And I've seen little boys who've just started to walk. I have three of my own. And you're off by about a few years. My kids, they were far too excited and proud of the fact they were able to walk. In fact I've never seen any of my kids exhibit the behaviour you say. But then perhaps I'm a decent parent who gives them other outlets and hasn't abandoned them to look after themselves like the parents of the aforementioned nine year olds.
There's definitely something to be said for boxing in regards to a violent outlet. Most kids are NOT violent. Those that are need their focus guided elsewhere, and clearly the parents aren't doing it.
Putting cameras in the home is not the solution. But then this is the country that is encouraging people to spy on their neighbours, encouraging kids to report their parents and families "climate crimes" etc...
I want to know who decides what "on time" is. My kids stay up pretty late. Mainly because I don't want to be woken up at 6am.
Who decides what time is right? Who decides what is "eating healthy". Does this mean pretty much a salad diet for the kids. Which of course would be covered in pesticides.
Giving them pizza punishable by death?
When are the British people (of which I was one until 1996) going to stand up and say "Enough!"
So glad I don't live there anymore. What the government have done there since I left is absolutely despicable.
Spoke to a friend their recently and she informed me that putting the cameras up in the local town center, all it's done is moved the crime out of that area and into others.
Whoever was defending him was clearly off the ball letting that one fly past.
I had a cop try that once. I had been (falsely I might add) arrested. Out on bail. After two weeks they found no evidence so when I reported back the good Detective said I was free to go. Then he said:
"So, you're free and go home. So now you're free, tell me, did you do it?"
Clearly criminals aren't very bright if that question is even worth asking.
I agree entirely. Where's "Poor customer service person who has to deal with your stupid backward ass" appreciation day? Where's Garbage Man Appreciation Day? Mail man? Pretty much every public service industry.
Where the hell is Fire Fighter appreciation day? EMT appreciation day?
It's a nonsense comment. The software ALREADY defines the consoles. You can have the latest hardware in the world, but if you have no decent games, your system is a paper weight.
Microsoft really do know how to make something out of absolutely nothing don't they...
What difference does you taking them seriously make? The fact is most console gamers are sensible individuals who like to put a disk in, sit down and play on their big screen TV. No mucking about with drivers, downloading patches etc... Just gaming with ease.
I have an Xbox 360 myself, and don't understand why people get so hyper about their gamer score. It's basically a number that the higher it is, it says "I have less of a life than you do, and can afford more games than you".
Didn't even know there was a way you could hack it. I'll get right on that and hack mine (right after I've cured world hunger and ended war.)
Only because we haven't been practicing our aim enough.
And what sort of idiot comment is that really from someone at the company? "You'll miss the old product we're replacing." I mean his entire comments are ridiculous. We'll miss the "good things" implying that Windows 7 has removed them.
Surely saying "All that DRM crap that stole your resources and restricted you in Vista... That IS missing from Windows 7" would be the only GOOD thing to miss.
Greenpeace have pulled this nonsense before. They lambasted Apple for not being "green" enough then came out and admitted they didn't really have a beef with Apple, they just went after them for the publicity as they were such a well known corporation.
Greenpeace are barely one level above PETA in the asinine self publicity stakes.
I find this amusing in a way. Investigation for making threats against the plane, but the people I've seen on there seeing about killing Obama... Not a damn thing.
Nope. This was an early CD burner and couldn't burn above X2 and I burned everything at the slowest speed. (A habit I've continued into DVD.) Said audio CD's played on other peoples players. Just not mine.
I've experienced this myself lately with a bunch of disks that were now useless. It was cheaper off brand disks that failed. The irony is at the time I got them, they were the ONLY disks I could get to work on my CD player.
So far I've had no failure with CD-R's from Sony, TDK etc... Which were the disks my CD player simply would NOT play.
Funny timing for this as I've introduced my kids to The Real Ghostbusters, a show where both Venkman and Janine's voices changed.
Venkman sounds like someone doing a very bad immitation of Lorenzo Music (which of course they are) whereas Janine's voice (the lovely Kath Soucie) is actually MUCH better as it's not as squeaky in the "channeling Annie Potts" way the former one was.
What I'm finding confusing is that when Futurama first appeared, certain corners of the net made a big deal about how unlike The Simpsons, Groening actually wholly owned Futurama.
Which makes me wonder why Fox are involved at all when it's on a different network.
Or perhaps TVLand is just a lot more complicated than I realise.
It's ironic as I mentioned this very case in the thread about "Don't Copy that Floppy" as the RIAA get $84,000 per song or whatever it works out too, and Air France is giving families of the victims of the Airbus crash $24,000.
Three dead travelers worth less than one song apparently.
Got into this argument with someone today. They said they wouldn't be STEALING a movie they want to see. I pointed out that downloading it is hardly stealing when, by my downloading it, I am not depriving a single person from seeing it.
The car analogy doesn't work unless when I download Big Robots Part 8, someone going to see the movie gets turned away. "Sorry, Goldberg's Pants pirated this film so you can't see it."
And yet these idiots just don't get how their analogy is utterly flawed. The thing is the media have spent so much time yelling IT'S STEALING! IT'S STEALING! IT'S STEALING! that the majority have bought into the lie put forward by the RIAA, MPAA etc... Despite the fact that they can say it a million times, and it still won't make it true.
People who get hauled up for downloading are NOT charged with stealing or theft. It'd be better for them if they were because theft, rape etc... Carry far lesser sentences than what they are ACTUALLY charged with. Criminal copyright infringement.
On a related note, I saw a nice piece of juxtaposition the other day that highlights the insanity. The RIAA verdict saying $84,000 or whatever it was per song, right next to a story saying the victims families of the Air France crash would get $24,000.
This is asinine. I wouldn't mind if they put EQUAL effort into going after the real criminal copyright infringers who bootleg in mass quantities. But organized crime is much harder to prosecute and build a case against, whereas Joe Average User is a soft target who can't afford to defend him or herself, so they go after them instead.
Go catch the REAL criminals making MONEY off copying your products, or quit whining. See, we've given you a choice.
"TFA waffles on about how Bugatti had to work on the structure to make it survive at 250 miles per hour, but honestly, speeds like that are just routine for twin engined aeroplanes."
Not on tarmac they aren't. You're neglecting the fact that the only thing keeping the Veyron on the road are four bits of rubber. Let's see the plane this is supposedly routine for do 250mph along the ground for any length of time. What an utterly ridiculous statement. You may as well say "The Space Shuttle does more than that easily!" It'd be as equally stupid and irrelevant.
Do 500mph in a plane, then do 100mph in a car. Which was the rougher ride? Stressed "a bit more"? Are you insane?
As a racer I'm just honestly astounded you'd make such a wrong headed comparison. I am just overwhelmed here with all the reasons you are so incredibly misguided.
As for your second equally demented paragraph, the Veyron is ROAD LEGAL! None of the cars you're talking about are.
Good god it's amazing you can dress yourself. Do you accidentally find yourself trying to wear bananas on your feet? Or perhaps a melon instead of a tie? Because honestly, your comparisons make me wonder what else you get so easily confused by. If you think the Veyron is comparable to a plane then...
I'm sorry, I'm just utterly baffled by you. But then if you read this you're probably going to try and type your reply on a bowl of soup. After all it's similar to a keyboard.
Not to mention the fuel duty you'll be paying. "Oh noes! Think of the planet!"
The irony of course is the Veyron is probably better emissions wise than any 15 year old piece of shit the whining hippies drive. And you'd certainly do more damage ecologically in a Prius. (Whose toxic manufacturing processes make it an ecological disaster.)
Just bugs me to see such smug arrogance from people on here when I would have expected them to marvel at the engineering. This car is technically impossible. Bugatti sat down and the engineers just couldn't figure out how to do it. It's an incredible achievement.
Well played. The FDA essentially uses the citizens of America as beta testers. Drug results are fudged etc... Merck put out faked independent publications for Vioxx so they could get their peer review stuff for the FDA.
It's outrageous that so many of these drugs make it out with all this.
And yet when the same companies that gladly put people at risk for profit make vaccines, people don't bat an eye to the lack of testing and vehemently fight anyone who questions them.
They should put "THIS WILL KILL YOU IF YOU'RE A DUMBASS!" on the packaging. Perhaps that'll make these fucking idiots stop tossing them down like M&M's.
The warnings are fairly clear as to the limit of what you should take.
It's funny. At my Doctor's office they have posters up warning of addiction to narcotics in painkillers etc... Yet no word on Tylenol.
The advice I've already seen has been saying about going to NSAIDS instead for the painkiller, which is great, as THOSE cause stomach bleeding...
Once again it's dumbasses causing the problem. I have a severe back problem and am on Tylenol 4. It's 325mg of Acetaminophen, and 60mg of Codeine. I have to take two at a time. I rarely take them more than twice a day as I don't like taking them unless I absolutely have too and I go whole days without taking them (despite my wife telling me to stop being a martyr).
Yet I've known idiots who when they have a bit of a headache toss down the Extra Strength Acetaminophen like candy. 5-6 of them at a time.
Those are the dumbasses who wind up with failed livers and have led to this idiocy. READ THE FUCKING LABELS! They're not there just for the companies amusement you stupid pricks! There's a maximum dose listed for a reason, jackasses!
Just like with Psuedoephedrine, once again, due to people being stupid, a worthwhile drug may be made a lot harder to get.
(We'll ignore the fact that the crappy replacement for ephedrine is made by a company who just happened to make a very large quantity of political donations to the people involved in having Pseudoephidrine restricted right before they did just that.)
I have 2 gig in my machine. It's more than enough for gaming currently thanks.
It seems absurd to FORCE 64bit. I can see where you're coming from, but if you're forcing EVERYONE, from the dumbest user up to go to 64bit, the support costs of explaing to these people why *insert app they love here* will no longer work would be insane.
And I love how my perfectly valid question got modded as troll. Thanks, Douchemod.
Why 64bit ONLY? Given the amount of compatibility problems I've read with 64bit OS's, and some games developers state in the system requirements 64bit is NOT supported.
I agree with the rest, but curious why you're essentially saying "And I want a whole bunch of software to NOT WORK".
The disintegration of family life is most definitely to blame in part. Near where I live two nine year olds just burned down the local McDonalds. These children were "well known to police". NINE YEARS OLD! That has nothing to do with outlets for violence and everything to do with shitty parenting.

Why? The Veyron is an incredible piece of engineering. Bugatti sell them at a LOSS if I recall. The workmanship is astounding.
I ever caught you keying ANY car, I'd break your fucking legs. People who key cars are UNIVERSALLY assholes.
But then you're too big of a pussy to post with your real account, so clearly you ARE an asshole.
iPod Touch fulfills all those criterior. Not sure of the exact screen size of the iPod though so it might fall down there.
"Oh noes! That's evil Apple! Can't support them!"
