    sock puppet accounts are great except when you start getting tagged in pictures for your work sock puppet and the last bachelor party you went to on your private sock puppet and they get linked through facial recognition and your boss sees pictures of you sniffing blow from a hookers cleavage.

    Perhaps it's being 48 and not the LCD doing it. My father was a mechanic, and other than in passing curiosity, did not sit at a computer until well into his 40s. His eyes were going at that time as well.

    I think it has to do with the drive towards "Let the applications rule and the OS should get out of the way." vs the Unix model of "The applications are part of the OS and should all work together."

    Funny thing, i was doing that once and when i hit 88 i ended up in 1955. When I wrote Toyota a letter about it they said they had no idea what a Prius was and asked with i had Toyopet Crown, Toyopet Master or Crown Deluxe.

    I'd complain more that driving the street price up would also drive up the drug related street crime here close to home. Providing incentive for more local growers and strain the local enforcements.

    Not quite true, the funding came up as the Al Gore speeches became more prevalent(take a look at how his net worth changed due to AGW.) The funding started to come quickly to any quack that could spout anything about it getting hotter. Even if they had to doctor data, fix charts, or ignore stats where it wasn't getting hotter to make it look true. Now that it's not getting hotter and hasn't been for more than 10 years there trying to pull every trick possible to keep the funds flowing.

    Depends. If one of those 100 shoddy studies gets me the $50M research grant and the ten-year study does not then the shoddy study wins.
