  1. Re:Already taxable on IRS Wants a Cut of Sales On eBay and Craigslist · · Score: 1

Actually, selling your own personal goods is not subject to income tax, even if there is an appreciation in the value (unless the item was bought for the sole purpose of investment). Buy a cell phone every 3 months then upgrading and selling the old one does not mean you have to pay income taxes on the sales of those phones.

And if you actually read the details, you have to sell over $20,000 and have 200 transactions in order for it to be reported. This is not for people who sell their cell phone every 3 months.

The income was already taxable, this will just help them find people trying to cheat the system. This is really no different than your bank reporting your interest paid on the 1099-int or one of the many other 1099 forms that are required to be filed by various entities.

I'm sure there're more, that's just all I can think of off the top of my head.

Most TV? Certainly. But there are the occasional gems that make it worthwhile. A few examples of current, excellent shows include Better Off Ted (sadly canceled), Dexter, and Gravity (weird show on Starz about a suicide group).

That's just a drop in the bucket. There are plenty of excellent shows if you know how to filter out the noise.

It depends. If he's a republican, yes. If he's a democrat.. maybe.

Right now, all republicans are voting along party lines but only some democrats are.

It's not a drop in technology expenses, it's an increase in other spending. If you look at the actual income statement ( http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/foundation/4/4f/FINAL_08_09From_KPMG.pdf pdf page 5), you can see the HUGE increase in salaries from 1.1M to 2.2M. Transferring from one computer to another on a LAN is much different from actually routing traffic. You'll almost always get close to full speed from a consumer level router when transferring from within the network. It becomes much more difficult to maintain speeds when actual routing is going on. Consumer level routers rarely come close to handling a full 100mbit of traffic when actual routing is involved.

I don't see why there has to be anything in between. When I lived in Hong Kong, I wasn't thinking, "boy it sure would be nice to have some small device to get me from the MTR/KCR/Bus/Ferry/Light Rail to my destination." I walked the 5 or 10 minutes after the "arteries" ended. We shouldn't be thinking about how to improve after people get off the mass transit, we should be thinking about how to improve the mass transit.
