Much like healthcare, most Americans don't have a real choice. I would pay less and get better healthcare and faster internet service if I could.
Why is this? I would guess that it's probably due to monopolies taking advantage of regulations to make competition stay away. Also probably in part to people wanting to watch specific sports and shows, and only being able to get them though one of the major cable/satellite networks. Shows like that are going to be hard for a startup internet company to replicate. Things like piracy, netflix, and itunes alleviates some of these problems, but a lot of people still prefer to get their games live.
You need a large enough explosive to clear a landing area that you think you can hit. Considering the weight limitations of sending things that far, that most likely is a nuke. Then when the lander lands in a sea of radioactive water, does it freeze around it? Do you wait for the surface to freeze into a hard crust, or do you wait until it completely hardens?
What of the life you are looking for? Perhaps its not able to survive a nuclear bomb? This means that you will need to travel beyond the edges of your refrozen sea looking for evidence, or dig down into it.
By the time you have answered these questions, you might as well have just landed with a better lander.
As I figure, there are enough lobbyists that something will happen here. So who's lobbies are larger, the US gambling industry, or the US media industry? Or will they join forces rattling sabers and try force? This will turn out to be an interesting piece of politics.
I live on the edge of Milwaukee. During the storms the whole thing can get covered, but usually the top part is visible because they have hoods.
The larger issue in total whiteout conditions is that you can't see far enough to see the light. The brighter the LED the higher chance you have to see it through the snow. The old bulbs just were not bright enough, even if they melted the snow faster.
If you are going to get in an accident because you cant read the light, then you need to slow down and spend some more time looking at other people's speed as they approach the intersection.
How do they plan to stop it? I am being serious here. It sounds like the NSA has taps on all their data already, whether Europeans give it freely or not.

The top comment in that link to the California link is spot on. I just wish I could go back in time and tell him how deep the NSA rabbit hole goes.
They probably do. The addition of the NSA stealing their personal and business data doesn't make the Chinese and Russians leave them alone, it just makes it worse. If by allowing the NSA to steal they could force the Chinese and Russians to stop, they probably would.
Which sucks if you want to access it from your phone, your computer, and a computer at the library. I think that syncing the keys securely is somewhat challenging for your average user. Your browser would also need to be able decrypt with the key, and doing that from javascript in a secure way is challenging.
This is important. Its unlikely anyone will hear of your story or your pocket constitution when you die in a hail of gunfire. The news will report that some guy attacked the police over a speeding ticket and was shot. You need to stand up before they take your ability to stand up away.
He thinks larger penalties would help deter shady organizations from harvesting data the user isn't even aware of.
The NSA is still going to harvest your data, laws clearly don't stop them. This will only be use as another point to increase the penalties for kids caught file-sharing, and they are already pretty extreme. $675,000 for 30 songs, might as well be a drug dealer.
I once had an similar idea about reducing the force of gravity on rockets. Basically make them with less mass, and as mass goes to zero then the force required to launch them into space also goes to zero. Genius.
Ah, didn't realize they didn't support toro. That sucks. Hopefully they will support the nexus 5 shortly after it comes out, and I hope I can buy one off contract like the nexus 4.

That gets to be a bit more tricky.

Cool, an actual link. Also contains no Jar Jar, so its safe to click.
Obligatory

Yeah, seems like a shitty job. Maybe we should have an AI in charge of the nukes? Here is a first draft:
if(false){
for(Missile missile : missiles){
missile.launch()
}
}
Dwarf fortress in an Evil area where everything keeps reanimating is harder. Battletoads 2 player is harder.
Forget the workstation, I'm thinking of getting a couple of the mac pros and putting them in a rack.
That just blew my mind. Again.

We aren't letting you have this car. Doesn't that make you want it more?
I can't wait until "Angsty Antlion", "Barbaric Bear", "Cybernetic Crow", and "Deadly Dropbear".
Before 9/11 that's how everyone was treated. Without that 8 hour Boston trip.
Hey, it worked with firewire and thunderbolt.

Do thermostats really believe things?

Let me guess, all politicians all blame the "other side" and will let us know how much the "other side" cost us within the week.

They included Martin Luther King's speeches back then as well. It was just called COINTELPRO and run by the FBI.
