Its getting slashdotted right now and is still up. That's more than I can say about most <1 month old sites. Whats to document? Its probably a few solr servers for searching balanced round robin by haproxy with nginx serving the mostly static pages.

It seems like a simple design, which is what healthcare.gov should have tried to be. I'm guessing feature creep stopped it from being so simple.

If this seems to work after a few years, they may try. The corn farmers are protected by Agricultural Lobbies, I am guessing that they want to get people used to targeted ingredients removal before messing with the big kids.

Corn syrup is in a lot of foods, I can see the news stories now of whoever proposes the law is trying to take away all your favorite foods. You are not allowed to eat what you want, etc. I think eventually it will happen, but you will see more resistance than to the trans-fat.

They could just implement their own system, like Ext4 or something, the problem being that Fat and NTFS are like the only things Windows can read and write. You can get some programs that let you do it, but they are not as seamless as something like fuse is in Linux mounting windows partitions. It is a problem created by Microsoft, which apparently they have earned 2 billion for.

Unfortunately those same people have continued to streamline newer Diablo release far past the point they should have. When i play a character based rpg, I don't want to respec for each area I go through. It breaks my sense of character, and they all feel the same. I really enjoyed playing Skyrim, but after a while it turns into a 'follow the waypoint' sort of game, and even though every character has individual stories, I don't end up caring.

Personally, I prefer something like Brogue, Sil, or Dwarf Fortress. Even if they have ascii graphics, the emergent gameplay is far more in-depth than AAA titles.

There must be some happy middle ground where we can have the depth but also acceptable graphics.
