It all depends on how you play. if you can hit the ball where you want to, you can score more, and then no two are exactly the same. After a few games even the same model machines play slightly differently.
I speak as one who repairs pinballs for a living. I hate to see it die, because I love the game.
It thrives in peoples' home game rooms, but not in the arcades. The pinball game that generated the most revenue for operators was The Addams Family, which came out in 1989. Revenue has been sliding ever since. Many arcades have gone out of business as they became unprofitable. Home video games took most of the profit from the arcades, and the pinball and other games declined due to lack of traffic.
At the community college where I studied, the professors all had at least masters, while some had PhD's. They were full time instructors and were strongly encouraged to go for the PhD. I learned a lot. This community college is ranked among the best in the country. I have since earned a BS in math.
I'm in a comcast area waiting for cable access for a long time.
When i bought this place 5 1/2 years ago Time Warner was planning an internet access rollout within a couple of years. It was stopped when AT&T bought the cable network. Comcast bought it about a year ago and we're still waiting. They said it would be out in Sept or Oct, and we're still waiting. They then said they'd had a technical problem (wouldn't elaborate) and it would be available in Dec. We're still waiting.
DSL is not an option. Paper clad copper won't carry the signal.
When I moved here five years ago Time Warner owned the local cable monopoly, and began about that time running fiber throughout the area. Before they finished, they sold to AT&T which promptly shelved the project. Dialup access is spotty at best because the phone lines here are very old and not getting upgraded, so forget DSL. The local community is mostly not interested in high speed access, so forget municipal help in any way.
I only hope that now that Comcast bought the local cable monopoly from AT&T, they will keep their promise and open up cable modem access next month. There is no other choice.

At one time in the broadcasts, it was believed that two AA flights had hit the WTC, and another was down at the pentagon and two united flights had also crashed, one in Somerset County PA. As it turned out the second united flight had been one of the WTC planes. The Colorado angle came from the use of the abbreviation for County, CO.
basic physics?
consider distance as a factor in risk.
double the distance from the antenna, receive one fourth the power. Right next to the head is actually about the worst case scenario.
What kind of student are you teaching?
Are you teaching programming students, networking students, general purpose users, or maybe graphics art students?
The material you use for the course should reflect what the students need to do. I teach a course in Linux Networking, So I use material appropriate for that. I am not teaching programming (at least not in this course).
Much communication today is taking place by means of microwaves already. A microwave oven uses microwaves of a frequency that excites (heats) water. It doesn't take nearly as much power to communicate as to cook, but I still wouldn't want to be too near when it's working.
I get new parts for pinball games from at least 3 sources.
Granted, these are general purpose parts that fit many pinball games, those specific to one model are definitely hard to get.

Stupidest argument i've heard in a while, and I read Slashdot!
excellent start, if you can learn by reading books, and since you are reading slashdot, you probably can.
This is one of the (many) reasons the DMCA is so dangerous.
will it help create better laws?
true, but you can be had for continuing to do what is now against the law.
IANAL, but when the law changes you have to keep current with the law. This defense won't work. Good luck in your fight

it is a rational, but repeating number in binary, and thus impossible to accurately handle in the cpu.
I recently paid $30 for a used 21 inch NEC multisync xl monitor! Works great.
if i find another deal like that, i'll snap it up too!

indented or intended?
I only pay 5.
Most of my calls are from AT&T and MCI. When they call, I just tell them what i pay for long distance, they say thank you and hang up.
