http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Motor_Carriage_Company "A Stanley Steamer set the world record for the fastest mile in an automobile (28.2 seconds) in 1906." .... they held the record for the fastest steam powered vehicle record untill just a few years ago. The founders of the company often got tickets for exceding 60Mhp (in reverse even) on production cars... and steam cars are inherently quite and the stanley models used a direct drive meaning no shifting of the transmission leading to a ride similar to what you might have in a prius (CVT transmission) The primary drawback to the stanley steam car was the requirement that you heat it up for a few minutes before leaving.... apparently White one of their competitor reduce the startup time to about a minute... though the stanley cars were probably simpler and safer in design.

Non Sun/Oracle derived java implementations pretty much don't exist... and the derivations that do exist are just redesigns of the VM which serve to introduce incompatibilities/bugs

The problem with NAFTA is that we don't really monitor or regulate foreign working conditions... this means they can practially use slave labor (for instance sugar cane industry in brazil or sweat shops in china where the average wage is barely enough to scrap by on they literally don't have enough money to even conceive of doing something different) Proof of the lack of good jobs in Mexico is the constant influx of Mexicans! I don't mind them but I think it would be better for them and us if they could find good jobs in Mexico the only way I can see that happening is ending NAFTA and suggesting they move to an internally stable economy similar to Brazil (ecept without the giant wage gap which is due to the way wages work in Brazil)

Also for computer enginnering java is the language used to teach objects....
