Oh my god.. you're one of those that think we're going to be buying Tesla Model S's for $2000 and we'll be paying $2 a ride in a self-driving care. You way underestimate corporate greed.
So as people lose their jobs, you expect they will be renovating their homes more? Sure, nothing like redoing your kitchen with marble counter tops as a celebration of being laid off by a good paying job.
You are totally evading the question. When blacksmiths went away, metal working was still done by someone close by, and as luck would have it we needed much much more metal work and the demand outpaced what local laborers could do even with the tools that they were given. Globalization was the death knell for that epoch. Most companies won't even start unless they can get by with relatively zero labor. Most other companies that use labor today are going to move to a point where they run with zero labor or until they can demonstrate that they are at minimum possible. So I ask again, what industry do you think there may be on the horizon that will need to critically employ domestic workers?
I'm just in a very beginning stage of working myself up to it. It's got to be realistic to me if I am ever to get one, or I could believe most people would get one. I've heard some fairly fantastical appropriations of how it is all going to work.
Ok I agree with you in principal exactly. I question how many construction workers one society could possibly exist on though. It's not just taxing rich people, it's taxing corporations. Apple has more money removed from the world's economy than the UK and Canada together own. Maybe it wouldn't be effecting us so much if the 'global economy' hadn't started, but, oops.. Apparently cheap smartphones are more important.
I thought the point of LED bulbs was so you could leave them on all the time. Why bother with a wall switch that may be across the entire room from me?
I agree. I plug in my phone whenever I can. I don't care if it is at 98%. If it sits on a table until it gets down to 50% and then I need it more then I thought that night and it dies on me I'll be kicking myself. I'll have the same philosophy with EVs.
I'm thinking if you want to run an application on a OS that is simplified down so that it is stable and have attack vectors minimized, but you are using a development platform that won't be compatible with linux, you may consider this. I have seen many kiosks with blue screens.
If they invented the automobile today they wouldn't have locals do manual assembly like before, assembly would be done in mexico or china. So what invention is going to happen that will require local workers?
- People tend to post either overly positive aspects of their lives on social media. Most people don't post an equivalent number of bad or boring things that happen to them. The exception to this is when people post about their family members dying or similar to try to get some sympathetic reactions.
I notice this about people in general. To me, a friend is someone who shares their woes with me as well as their successes and they are accepting when I reciprocate. The problem is much worse on social media because, let's face it, who wants to post a picture where everyone looks like crap?
I'd be happy if there was a built in capability for Android to limit available apps during school hours. We often tell our kids that they can't take their phones to school when it is time for a tune up on late assignments etc, but this has two problems: 1) I got them the phone because the school forces them to take a bus between classes occasionally and I would prefer to know where they are, and 2) most teachers give research time in class and expect kids to do it on their phones, putting my kids at a disadvantage if they don't have their phone that day. Being able to select what applications they can run between 7-3 would certainly be a great thing.
I don't even know how to answer this? It seems like you are trying to convince yourself?

I know, I know.. read the signature.
Yes, with a sign that says "Your welcome" in all the world's languages.

Local workers were needed to make those things! Now that is taken away as well.
Kindly point to an automation that *totally* replaced humans before.
What is my assurance the camera I show the ID to won't take an image of it and have it end up in some torrent somewhere?
What's really great is if you don't scan every second item, no one notices.
Simple then, just take your Uber ride to the wrong side of the tracks, then walk across the tracks to the right side where you live.

If you threaten someone's life, sure. But that's what people want.
Why would anyone expect them to? No profits to chase.
Ok so you mean impressed in a "that's swell" kind of way, not in a "WHOOOAAA! Look at that guy!" kind of way.
I guess not if it is in some dumb walled garden.
Doesn't Windows 10 S run VirtualBox?
I'm sensing a glaring problem with that system!
