"for most people" being the key word. And even thought people don't really know they will never run into a situation where they will need to charge on the road.

  2. Here we are in the 21st century and companies are still clearly confused on how expensive using IT really is. They cheap out and then act surprised when there is a hack.

  3. Companies need to demand secure software. If it was easy enough for a crook to climb a ladder and get in a second floor window, I would lock the second floor windows and I wouldn't ever install a window without a lock again.

  4. If said company wants to use technology with cracks then it is up to said company to stay ahead of such cracks. Yes it can be expensive and complicated, not my problem. Maybe companies should demand more secure software.

  5. If I left my front door open with a sign that said 'come take my stuff' I expect the insurance company would fight me too.

The lesson here is that people do unpredictable things when they are unhappy, so keep them happy.

  7. I got caught on a speed camera once because it was in a mobile unit and it was set up behind the speed sign. It caught me in the photo visibly behind the speed sign and obviously braking hard. I remembered the incident and knew that I had slowed down to the speed limit exactly at the sign; I had known the truck was there but didn't expect it to be set up so badly. I went to fight it and there was a five hour wait. I quickly calculated the cost of the ticket and the cost for me to wait and I paid the ticket sit nce it was cheaper.

So, no, I am not a fan of speed cameras either.

  8. You're assuming they will allow multiple people to use a premium package.

  9. This would be end game for me. I'd be done with Netflix. Being able to have one account for the family is the only way the subscription makes financial sense, especially here in Canada.

  10. And when you return it that way to benefit from the warranty?

  12. My motivation isn't really to stop snooping, it is to enjoy TV without spending $1K on PCs. I already have an Android phone so I'm probably snooped on a lot more through that anyway and at least I know the Android boxes don't have microphones like some smart TVs do.

It looks like there are articles on rooting Android TV boxes so I'm fairly sure you could de-Google it. In fact I like that idea; I'd be interesting in knowing that the alternatives are like.

Trump has loudly criticized the Canadian subsidies for farmers and tried to get them removed from NAFTA, so yes, it is Trump. He could change US farm subsidies if he didn't want to look like such a hypocrite. So yes, it is Trump.

  14. We're living in a world where vendors are getting rid of headphone ports. They don't care about you.

  15. Or you could buy an Android box for $60. Mine does kodi, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and every other tv channel app.

A couple years back I realized I would need to spend at least $400 on a PC for all those things, especially HEVC. Found out that Android has all the hardware for it already. Bought a couple boxes and love them. Be sure to upgrade to a nice launcher though.

Double woosh. I'm saying you're wrong. Australia tried that and it is so chaotic to be in that business, farmers left the industry in droves. The key is the right kind of regulation. How about getting rid of the dumb idea that that the government subsidizes for products it doesn't need for one thing.

Here in Canada when people die waiting for care, it makes the news very quickly.

No one is suggesting that you 'copy cat' anything. Using a real functional example as a model for your own system is not the same as 'copy catting'. No one says the Canadian system is perfect either, it just sounds a heck of a lot better than the American solution. I would hope you identify the issues and fix them for your own system, at the very least.
