The ONLY reason I still use Windows is because of the far superior quality of the windows9x nVidia drivers. The linux drivers offer terrible framerates, with poor texturing performance, and no (?) AGP support. There is a long way to go before I switch to linux for my gaming (besides the lack of games).
Is it just me, or does it sound like PlayMedia are just covering as much ground as possible? Cast your line in enough places, and you'll catch a fish eventually.
Oh..and what is the legal side of suing someone who makes a mp3 player? Isn't it like suing ACDSystems for making ACDSee, which technically allows you to view illicit images?
Hmm... I wonder if the makers of X11amp are going to be receiving a few letters from various lawyers...
What's the point of dpkg'ing (or RPM'ing) a kernel? Aren't they MEANT to be customised for your computer? (Yes... i'm not talking about.src.rpm's:P Isn't customised kernels one of linux's main advantages over the Win32 platform?
There are no words I can offer to geeks, to offer reassurance. I can't say anything you haven't already heard. All I can say is there is hope. And you underestimate your own power!:)
Hmm... just wandered over to that site... Using my Celeron 464Mhz box... (:P~ ) And it doens't load? All my IE5 'Security' (ha! ha!) things check out... what the smeg is up with this? I demand the kidneys of the programmer:P
Poor old me succumbed to the temptation of downloading IE5, and now the damned thing is hell erratic with SlashDot logins... sometimes it works (and displays my fortune on the main page:), and other times, it doesn't!. But at all times, when I click "User Account", it says I'm already logged in. Is this a/. problem or Micros~1?
I can't get any mp3s to play correctly through 2.2.2.
cd-audio works fine, quake audio plays fine, but the mp3s loop the first 0.5s of the mp3. both x11amp and mpg123 fail. reboot into 2.2.1, mp3s work fine. What's up with this?
Quake 3: Arena on Linux is good and fine, but since it's hardware based, what about all us TNT users who won't be able to play it until someone writes Mesa drivers for our kick-ass cards?

Just shows you how popular Linus has become, and how much power he has behind him now!
Well...we do!

Welcome To Human Nature.
If you are 'abnormal', you WILL be made to know it.
In the worst possible way.
And we all have our own definitions of 'normal'...
