Why blow up perfectly working celeron cpus and bx motherboards trying to goose that celeron 366 up over 450 when you can buy a celeron 500 for dirt cheap! Hell PIII600s are under $400. That's cheaper than having to replace a motherboard and a cpu.
Fluoroinert??? Didn't they used to cool the old supercomputers (crays) with those?
Why not just go to a butcher shop and put the box in the meat locker? Or one of those big freezers?
"However, Walker will have to overcome a lot of obstacles before he can go into space, including persuading the Federal Aviation Administration to give him a license to launch his craft."
So - if the FAA doesn't give him a license, and he blasts off into space without one, will they allow him to re-enter US airspace after he re-enters orbit?
Back in April the MPAA tried to ban 2600.com from providing links to any sites that were mirroring DeCSS. Their legal team attempted to push this through court... but I wonder if the fact that the New York Times' linking to the same links page had anything to do with the stopping of this legal bull rush.
I for one think it's quite commendable of the Linux community to want to come to the aid of the creatures that are the mascot to their OS.
If a group of thugs ran into a major city with sledgehammers and smashed a few thousand windows, do you think the MCSE's would band together and do something about it? **
Jokes aside, I think it's the oil corporations' responsibility to help those penguins!
The open source community is having enough problems with the GPL!

When I went to a training session at IBM to learn about their server line, one of the IBM guys told me that some branches of the federal.gov have IBM laptops with dual cpus in them already... and that was almost a year ago. **hmmm**
So, was the IBM guy full of crap, or does the.gov get all the cool toys before we get them?
I remember when they started to commercialize the internet, one of the biggest debates on the BBS' I used to frequent (ISCA, SkynetBBS hpx6.aid.no - R.I.P.) was how free speech and other issues were going to be taken away with commercialization of the internet.... Now we have lawyers profiteering off of every little wedge that they can stick into the internet. Whether it's Gateway 2000 crushing the little guy (remember the gateway.com legal fight?), Kevin Mitnick, Napster, or whoever...
How can you sue someone for linking something? That's ridiculous. That's like being arrested by the cops because you pointed at a bank robbery or something.
Lawyers should spend more time trying to right the wrongs in society - and less time trying to stuff their mattresses with our money!

It would have been nice if he downloaded and ran the dnet client and ran the benchmark on it - just so us RC5 people could "ooh and aah" over the zillions of keys/sec it would do.
They're kinda pointless... if you can't read USENET, LDP, or a man page you shouldn't be running *nix anyway.
Linuxcare is pointless because the tech support is out there all over the place. The few people who need to be spoonfed w/ Linuxcare will get frustrated with Linux and go back to Micro$oft.
I understand that people like Linus and the rest of the Linux "bigwigs" want to make the OS more user friendly and accessable to more people... but I still don't see the basic computer user running Linux as their desktop OS. At least not today...

Hitler offered cars to all the people of Germany. Hopefully there will not be any mass attrition or "appropriation" of neighboring countries (Canada and Mexico).
I couldn't agree more! Gateways are total crap nowadays... and I build my own machines because:
Proprietary hardware sucks
I like quality parts (no generic crap)
I can blame myself if something goes wrong - I'm my own tech support!
Great link!
:P
Now I'll be a little bit more attentive with those bottle rockets

It "looks" really cool. They can only be controlled via a "control center" by Honda's engineers tho. So much for mass consumer markets.

*lol* That link was great!!! I hope someone makes a quake mod so I can chop up Mario with a chainsaw! *vrrt!*
So - if the FAA doesn't give him a license, and he blasts off into space without one, will they allow him to re-enter US airspace after he re-enters orbit?
And what kind of fine will they impose on him?
Exactly!!!!!
I guess I needed to put a more creative subject line in.
There's NO WAY in hell that the RIAA would go after the NY Times or any other corporate entity that linked to the 2600.com's DeCSS pages.
Oh well *sigh*

So can we safely assume that there are ice pops growing on the dark side of the moon?

(b) always be obediant.
(c) never to stick his/her nose in one of my dates' crotches....
hell I might be interested.
Otherwise, nevermind.
Pink Stars... yellow moons... It only seems to make sense...

Maybe if the BurgerBOT had a Dr. Theopolis it would be able to prepare food in a variety of ways.
Besides, won't we have food replicators by the 25th century?

The answers are already out there... but users aren't saavy enough to find them and apply them - that's where WE come in.
