There are investors who care about ethics, and see good company morals as a sign of a good long term investment - maybe not many of them, but there is some.
You are still doing things wrong - your wireless network should be a seperate network from your LAN - VPN and / or ssh into your lan if you want access from your wireless network - it's not smart to trust that to WEP or WPA either. And yes, this will take one additional firewall for your home network - it's worth it.
I really wish Nintendo would come out with a pda that could run their game carts. My Palm is getting a bit old, and I am not sure I trust them long term - and I still really dislike those WinCE devices. Simple, fun, WiFi, and a long battery life - maybe I am dreaming.
What do you think WPA or WEP gets you in your web browsing?!? Neither is worth a damn for security, if you want encrypted traffic you should be using ssh, sftp, scp, https - namely not http or ftp. You realize that once it leaves the immediate wireless router WEP and WPA traffic for http and ftp goes to clear text that can be snooped once again, don't you? (No end to end encryption - unlike say ssh.)
It still makes me laugh that the killer game for the 360 is Gravity Wars and at the same time Bill Gates is claiming the Revolution will not be able to compete because of it's inferior hardware specs....
I've also heard stories of Ford sending managers to workers homes to make sure they did not have a competitor's vehicle, had their lawn trimmed, the kids had good clothes, they were not drinking too much after work, & etc. I would not have a problem passing such an inspection, but still not someone I would want to work for.
But hey, you need the HDTV graphics, fast processor, and expensive components for... what was that successful launch title again? Oh yeah, Geometry Wars - let's see Nintendo match that with their underpowered Revolution.
Yes, I am being sarcastic. The game being inexpensive and fun are the important points for Microsoft's best selling game - but yet they can somehow blithely ignore those little points.
If you really want to understand Mohammed - I'd highly recommend HG Wells "History of the World" - it's non-fiction. Some of the science is badly off now of course, but the history of Mohammed and the muslim world is quite enlightening.
You really don't know what you are talking about. So you are no longer under the mistaken impression that these were the first drawings of mohammed - there are plenty of examples from muslim artists.
I don't think greedy is a big enough word... this is SCO sized rip off.
The telcos are currently charging what, about 3 to 4 times what a broadband connection costs in Japan or Europe? And the connection speed in the US is 1/10th that in Japan & Europe? So really the US telcos are overcharging their customers for near monopoly rates in the US now!
Our observations of water here on earth are not really representative of all the forms of H2O in nature. On the contrary, a big part of the reason why life is able to exist on this planet is that we are almost exactly at the triple point of water. By the weak anthropic principle, we only observe those forms of water that are conducive to the existence of life.
and therefore, on any planet where a human-like creature could survive and walk, that planet will be near the triple point of water, and the only natural forms of water will be ice and snow (cubic and hexagonal ice I) and the only naturally occuring forms of ice will be ones that expand when frozen.
And how do you propose keeping the pressure the same, by expanding the container, or by removing some water so the remainder will stay at a constant pessure while it expands?
The general idea is stupid, but I would point out a problem with your reasoning. Water, unlike most chemicals, EXPANDS when frozen - which is why the bottoms of our oceans don't freeze. (i.e. the pressure at the bottom of the ocean prevents the water from freezing.) You can test this yourself, fill a bottle all the way up with water, put it in your freezer, and see if the bottle expands or contracts.
I think it is taken from Microsoft's strategy book - how many times has Microsoft hurt a company by just saying they are planning on releasing a new product? Google does not even have to release a product, just the threat of it is too big for Microsoft to ignore, and so Microsoft will be torn into another direction and have less focus on competing against Google in search....
Yep, nice way to get out of paying taxes, is it not? Instead of kicking into government social programs in general, start your own social program that pays Dad's (and who else's?) salary, and only puts in where you want it to. I would like to be able to direct my tax dollars also.

I have been happy with Kinkos for this sized runs.
And that is exactly why you should have seperate LAN and wireless networks seperated by a firewall.

Oops - I meant Geometry Wars of course - wish they had called it Asteroids360....

Puts new meaning in "Crazy cat lady", doesn't it?

Sure, I could have worded my last post better - you are mistaken. How's this?
You really don't know what you are talking about. So you are no longer under the mistaken impression that these were the first drawings of mohammed - there are plenty of examples from muslim artists.
Just so you are not under the mistaken impression that these were the first drawings of mohammed - there are plenty of examples from muslim artists.
The one time I hoped to open a slashdot thread and see a disgusting ASCII drawing as the first-post... guess I have my comment threshold set too high.
Exactly. Over a man who was illiterate and got his first money by marrying the widow of his dead boss.
You can see the cartoons here. I like the picture of a protester against the Freedom of Speach in London with a sign that read "Freedom Go To Hell". Here are other protestors and a nonviolent response.
Not like these were the first drawings of the man either.

So, why so upset at Google? I am begining to wonder if Steve "the chair" Ballmer has Microsoft lobbyists pushing this with the telco execs. Granted, not long ago I would never believed it, but since it came out that Microsoft financed SCO's lawsuits through very shady PIPE financing to try to hurt IBM, I really wonder. What would you do to keep your pile of cash coming in if you were in their shoes?
$40,000 might be a bit low, don't forget that Bill Gates stole souce code from garbage cans also....

Don't you wish you could get away with paying taxes like Microsoft doesn't?
I did not say used, that is the price for the book NEW!
