    I don't mind either subtitling or dubbing myself. The only time I've ever wished something was dubbed was Metropolis--either that or they should have stopped talking during the panoramic shots.

    I can't do that; whatever I watch it in first, that's what I'll always look at/listen to.

    The idea that they can quickly and accurately find every memory allocation bug is still ridiculous. These are common bugs, they afflict a lot of OSes, and they can't usually be spotted that easily.

    Specifically, Reasoning examined the TCP/IP stack and found fewer errors in Linux.

    So they just looked at the code and found all the bugs. They must have the best programmers in history working for them if they could just look and find all those bugs that it usually takes years for mortal programmers to find.

    Well the difference is voice acting needs a measure of diversity; different ages, different nationalities, different ethnicities.

    Unless of course you can find a radio script where the only characters are nasal white guys in their mid-to-late 20's.

    The problem is you generally need actors with some training to provide the voices. Don't assume that it's "just talking".

    The best example of not heeding this warning can be seen in those computer games (thankfully most places do everything professionally now) where it's obvious that the programmer's friends did the voices. It sounds horrible.

    Ohio FREAKING State?! Now if OSU (a fine school, I'm not knocking it) graduates make $89k, how much do you think Harvard or MIT MBAs make? I'm assuming you live in some suburb somewhere, and are basing your judgements on that.

    Secondly, even if we accepted the spurious notion that Ohio State MBA grads make the same as everyone else, including Harvard and MIT, even then the number of $89k is an AVERAGE. Some people make more than that, some make less, and since they're only $11k less than $100k, it's fair to assume that some of the graduates are making into the six figures.

    Yet you claim NO non-self-employed 25 year old will be making $100k+. I know people who do. The statistics show that they exist as well. You know you're wrong, I know you're wrong, anyone else following this knows you're wrong. Just admit it.

    I'm not sure what part of "I KNOW THESE PEOPLE" you don't understand.

    Go do a search on google for "average starting salary MBA".

    You're making a common mistake of deciding that your experiences represent some sort of universal situation.

    Don't be ridiculous. Like slashdot would ever dupe articles; I mean, there are a bunch of people working there, they post only a handful of stories a day, and it takes what, a few seconds to check whether an article is a dupe? Do you really think they wouldn't take those 10 seconds to check?

    I think you owe the editors an apology for even insinuating such a thing.

    Uhh, I've known people like this. Starting salaries for MBAs, even people without much experience, were into six figures here during the boom. Whether they actually MANAGE people is irrelevant; they're technically in the management track, and they make more than techies.

    Or, they could be making double what you do, and working a quarter of the hours because they went into management.
