I don't see how this is a step for the Freedom of Information Act. It does us no good to tell everyone who our secret sources are. In fact, it really just screws us. And if I had to choose between more information in the future or knowing dick about John Lennon, well, sorry bud I never liked your music anyway.
I blame him for an adolescence spent playing computer games instead of chasing girls:-)
I got all but stood up at my HS sophomore Homecoming dance and what'd he do? Sat up with me until like 7am playing Duke Nukem 3D.. remains as my favorite game ever.. I can't wait for when my grandkids get to play Duke Nukem Forever..
My grandmother recently passed away. While at the funeral home reviewing the work of the embalmer (or whoever puts on the makeup/etc) the funeral director asked what they thought. My Mother made the comment that they had done an excellent job and that she looked wonderful. My Uncle said, and I'll never forget it...
"Yes, she looks great. So great that I'm thinking of bringing my wife down here."
Sometimes you just have to make light of the situation if you're going to try to get through it. I don't think there's a single/.er on here that is happy because this event happened and of the few jokes I've seen have none have been negative/insensitive.
This is called "protectionism". The best way to inflate prices for the customer at the same time as lowering overall quality. It's unfortunate that *all* countries/governments do it.
This is true. European countries only hate Turkey because of their religious beliefs. Like how the European Union not allowing Turkey into the EU because it is not of Christian faith.
I have never once looked down at my manhood and thought "Wow, I need to compensate for you." I've also never purchased any male enhancement pills, tools, etc.
That being said. I love sports cars. They make driving fun. My sportbike makes driving all sorts of fun. My 20mpg 3000GT made driving fun. My friends 14mpg Trans Am was fun. My other friends Corvette is a blast as well.
The Civic I drive to work is a complete piece. It's got the acceleration of an over-the-hill football lineman. It handles like a damn brick. I can only tolerate driving it because when I get home I hop on my GSX-R and hit the turns.
I'm so damn tired of people calling sports cars penis extensions. Because lets be honest, most geeks aren't driving Civics and Audi's because they're hung like John Holmes.
Oh, I'll comment on this as a person who doing this.
I make $35k/yr, graduated from college in Dec '03 and I just did some personal finance math yesterday. After paycheck deductions (healthcare, soc sec, ESOP, taxes, etc), I get $962 every two weeks.. which is roughly $2080 every month.
I am renting a room in a house in the Newport News/Hampton/Langley Air Force Base/NASA area of Virginia. I pay $500/mo and it includes my utilities (electricity, phone, cable tv/internet, etc). We bargained and the landlord washes the dishes (she owns the house) and I cut the grass.
At the end of each month, after rent, car payment, insurance, cell phone, gasoline, groceries, and my health club membership (subsidized by my employer), I have approximately $960/mo spare.
$820/mo. That's enough for me to buy a second car on top of my current car and motorcycle. Hell that's enough for me to rent another place to live. (I use it to pay off "post college / pre employment debt").
I only have two friends who make more money than me straight out of college and they are in the northern Virginia area (outside of DC) with insane costs of living (which after using the salary calculator on homefair.com shows they only make $900/yr more than me).
You know what I think? I think I live like a king. I can eat out whenever I want. I can go clubbing whenever I want. Basically, I can do whatever I want. Before this job I was in a job that was about $17k/yr and I couldn't do anything. In fact I was selling things just to be able to afford going out.
I am sooo glad someone else thinks this. You know I remember back on IRC 10 years ago when someone could send you a message and it was completely acceptable if you got back to them within the next hours or maybe even days.
Why?
BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE LIVES.
At college (been out less than a year)... if I didn't have an away message up everyone assumed I wouldn't respond immediately. And God forbid you walk away from your computer to do something else without putting up an away message in AIM. I couldn't begin to count the fights I had with girlfriends and "discussions" I had with friends. My response was always "Just because it is called "instant messaging" does not in any way imply "instant response."" I never won the arguments/discussions though.
You are not allowed to extend the school network in *any* way. As in, you cannot use your own hubs, switches, wireless routers/access points, etc.
You get one network jack, in your room, and that's it.
However they are installing WAPs through campus and have many places where you can just plug in your laptop.
Note that this internet connection is installed offcampus to non-university owned apartments as well. But since it is still the schools internet connection the same rules still apply.
Don't like it? Get a cable modem, DSL connection, or your own wireless connection.

Isn't the National Weather Service.... a part of the government?
California.
Yay for left wing politics and the government tell you how to live your life!
But the whole part of removing rights from felons is punishment for the crime they committed.
Instead of letting felons vote and affect the political system why not put more effort into preventing felons?
Donald Trump?
He's got the worst combover of any celebrity.
womp wah

Let me introduce you to my family...

HAHAHAHAHA....
god damn I loved that skit. You'd get a +1 Funny from me if I had the mod points.
makes a big difference
Richard Stallman was in the car earlier but apparently had been dropped off prior to the accident.
I can't tell if you're thankful or disappointed...
either way I laughed...
Last I checked you could be left winged and still believe in religion.
Or have the Liberals declared there is no God?

Uh, are you in touch with reality?
They chose a new physics engine. They did not choose a new renderer.
For the love of God. Here's the words from the man himself:

This is true. European countries only hate Turkey because of their religious beliefs. Like how the European Union not allowing Turkey into the EU because it is not of Christian faith.
Which is exactly what they are doing right now.
WHO ARE YOU KIDDING?
Recent polls show that 90% of journalists are liberals!
I'm not sure how positive a thing I consider a couple of million batteries the size of me to be.
Anyone know how safe the batteries are in electric vehicles? What keeps them from going kaboom, leaking, etc?
You know, I'm gonna have to comment here.

Batteries are amazingly corrosive.
A lot of the U.S. gets its electricity from coal and other non-replaceable fuels that damamge the environment.
Everytime you drive it you have to plug in and get more electric charge from the above environment destroying power plant.
Where's the bonus?
Surely you've forgotten about Oracle 9.
Lobbying groups get Congress to steal our tax money, again, as usual?/i
Democrats have been doing this forever. Except they give it to people who haven't done anything to earn it.
Atleast when companies get the money it's handed back out in either salaries or stock dividends.

Well that's referred to as "kidnapping" (holding a person against their will).
What if someone tapes it to the back of a toilet?
Didn't you see The Godfather?
