Microsoft sucks at naming things. That's nothing new. These are the people that named their Java like framework ".Net" and named their sql server "Sql Server" making both a pain in the rear to do Internet searches on due to overly generic naming. We're just lucky they didn't name it GIFS.
There's no difference. I lean Republican and support both of those arguments. Don't take away my tools because other people are stupid. I want guns and net neutrality. Sadly Democrats want me to choose one.
I agree I've bought a lot of drives and my friends buy a lot of drives. Maxtor is the worst. I've seen more Maxtors die than all other drive manufactures combined. I had one Maxtor drive that I RMA'd 2 twice under the warantee period. When it died the 3rd time still under warantee I just bought another brand because I was sick of losing my data.
Maxtor - Blacklisted forever because of terrible reliability Seagate - Fast, quiet, most reliable I've seen, but run so hot that they can cause hardware around them to die. Western Digital - Fast, quiet, cool, but I've seen a few die. Luckily they usually die earily before they have much data or run forever.
What do you do when a whitelisted manufacturer buys a blacklisted one? Blacklist them both, whitelist them both, or nothing at all?
It is sites like that this that make Firefox's Session Saver extension a bad idea. I just had to click it.:-) Then firefox just had to restore it the next time loaded.:-0
The French thought it was a good idea in 1886 so it must be a good idea for the US in 2005.
Let the whole world migrate here and suck up all the resources. Then we can be a poor province of China.
Galactica is good, but Babylon 5 was better. Galactica may not be the absolute best sci-fi but it is definitly one of the best things the the Sci-Fi Channel has put out in a while.
The isp pays for a certain size pipe. It then sells smaller pipes to users. The isp has to pay based on the size of their big pipe. To figure out how big a pipe the isp needs they add up the average bandwidth of the smaller pipes + PLUS A SHARED BUFFER PIPE.
This shared buffer pipe (or standby bandwidth) has to be fill the need for peak bandwidth usage. So the fee you pay for momentary insane bandwidth usage goes to pay for this usually empty standby bandwidth.
The price you pay does two things. It helps pay for this usually unused but still costly resource and it encourges the customer to keep their peak bandwidth usage close to average so that the ISP doesn't have to waste more money on extra bandwidth that is only used occasionally.
I also had a Maxtor 40 GB 7200 Drive, but it died after about 4 months. I also opted for their "advanced" replacement service. But it took them two weeks to send me my replacement drive. They said they were out of stock at the replacement center. They did second day air it at the end of two weeks.:-b
I installed support for a JetDirect Printer at work. Windows wouldn't even see it without the JetDirect software. There is a version of the JetDirect software for Solaris: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/networ king/software/ja242en.readme.unx
So if asked real nice maybe they would port it to Linux.
If you want something, ask those who can provide. If you won't ask, don't complain.
John Corbett might make a good replacement for Mulder. I can imagine him working with Scully much more easily than Bruce Campbell. Besides he did a nice job with "The Visitor", another good SciFi series.

from too much caffeine, junk food, stress, and sitting in a chair all day.

My stupidity squared.
Somebody mod this way up as a warning. I didn't need to see that.

I'm happy to see Sony is making progress toward the Playstation 9.

PS9. Here's hoping for the future.

Have you been to Google.com today? The MentalPlex search engine is hilarious. These people have some creativity when it comes to April Fools. ;-)
