Hydrazine and phosgene can kill in very unpleasant ways (phosgene was used by Germany in World War I and causes the lungs to fill with foam, hydrazine is ammonia + bleach, and killed a janitor after 2 weeks in extreme pain in a hospital which could do nothing to save him or even comfort him sufficiently).

I was originally a physics major, but the Internet and computers seemed so much more interesting, and physics majors can't really do anything new until they get a PhD, whereas with computers one could do interesting stuff almost from the beginning. (was true in 1993 and is still true today)

Also, many leaders will do something helpful in the short run albeit destructive in the long run, point to the obvious short term improvement while it lasts and jump ship to a new position elsewhere. When the old company goes down, they don't get the blame, but they keep the credit for the "good times" it had, and possibly even look good because the company failed after their "leadership" was withdrawn ("I was so good I kept it going in spite of the odds while I was there".) - most people don't realize a good leader would've made it so it could survive after they left.

    It likely is illegal.

Just because it is their network DOES not give them the right to FORGE IP packets to look as if they come from elsewhere.

That would be like a courier service forging documents from 2 people wanting to communicate saying "Stop sending documents" if they didn't want them to talk. They'd never do something that stupid, and if they did, they couldn't get out of charges by saying they were only forging documents through their service.

Forgery is illegal. Someone who had a forged RST packet sent in their name should have forgery charges pressed and sue for impersonation.

A technical defense is to block RST packets. Probably not hard to do under Linux, and likely trivial.
