I'm just touching on a few of the more minor issues with Bush and his administration
And there are a ton more, which you've not listed here. We can go round and round all day about who you assume I am voting for, and I guess there is not much I can do to prove otherwise. However my opinion remains, I am not happy with our current administration, but I am even less happy with John Kerry. I must say, you democrats are very funny, considering anyone making opposing views of your candidate as a right wing wacko. However, I digress. Kerry is no leader. He has proved this by his record in U.S. Senate.
Please tell me, what has John Kerry actually done to improve the U.S.? You can spout off about Bush this and Bush that all day, that does not affect me, nor does it answer the question, and it certainly does not make Kerry a better candidate.
Do you think we would have screwed up so badly if Kerry were in office instead of Bush?
That would depend on what screw up you're referring to;) As far as the Iraq war is concerned, I feel we're in a better position now then we would have been with Kerry.
Secondly, there are reasons that a bill he's had significant contributions into might not have his name on it.
Any Senator can put their name on a bill as a co-sponsor, for what reason would you support an idea but not put your name on it? Is it not discomforting that this presidential candidate has 11 bills with his name on them that have passed? Eleven!! How many is that per year? Less than one. From this I can draw one of two conclusions: He is not capable of conveying a message to congress that can pass, or, he is not capable of creating ideas at all.
what ideas and opinions has Bush created to change the country in a better way?
FYI: I am not voting for Bush, but I'll answer your question as best I can...
Education:
No child left behind
$2.4 billion to fund a teacher accountability system
Economy:
Signed one of the largest tax cuts in world history
Medicare prescription drug program
Passed new laws that hold businessmen accountable for cooperate scandals
Reduced taxes on capital gains and dividends
Funded technical solutions to help the disabled work from home
Made child adoption tax credits permanent
College tax exemptions on tuition and savings
Defense:
Signed the largest nuclear arms reduction with Russia in world history
Increased defense research by $20 billion
This is very true, and on that note I do agree that Senator Kerry, as a senator, is a very good one. Given the opportunity I'd likely vote for him, as Senator. However, based on his record, I do not believe he is a good leader for President. A President prosents fresh ideas, or reformed old ones, to the house and senate. John Kerry has simply not shown the ability to create ideas and opinions that will change this country in a better way.
However, if you are like me and don't want either of them to be president, then you are pretty much screwed.
We have other options. You can vote for another party, they may not get elected, but if they get enough electorial votes they can get better funding and actually be part of the debates in four years.
My point exactly. He has voted in favor of a lot of good bills, which have passed, and do make him a great Senator (although his attendance record is probably the worst in Senate). But what has *he* created, what ideas where his own, what has he personally started which benefited this country? The above list is *the* complete list of his *own* ideas. John Kerry's voting record is that of a follower, not a leader.
Here was my souce, which I forgot in the parent... http://factcheck.org/article282.html
has [John Kerry] started or supported any bills that are important to you?
Thank you. This is an important topic for me. As a Senator, your job is to pass bills and vote on bills that are important to the people. Take a look at the record, does he support your ideas? Let's take a look at the bills John Kerry has created and passed shall we...
S.791 1999: Authorizes $53 million over four years to provide grants to woman-owned small businesses. S.1206 1994: Names a federal building in Waltham, Massachusetts after Frederick C. Murphy, who was killed in action during World War II and awarded (posthumously) the Medal of Honor. S.1636 1994: A save-the-dolphins measure aiming "to improve the program to reduce the incidental taking of marine mammals during the course of commercial fishing operations." S.1563 1991: Funding the National Sea Grant College Program, which supports university-based research, public education, and other projects "to promote better understanding, conservation and use of America's coastal resources." S.423 1987: Granting a visa and admission to the U.S. as a permanent resident to Kil Joon Yu Callahan. S.300 2003: Awarded a congressional gold medal to Jackie Robinson (posthumously), and called for a national day of recognition. S.856 2001: Increased the maximum research grants for small businesses from $500,000 to $750,000 under the Small Business Technology Transfer Program. S.J.Res.158 1989: To make the week of Oct. 22 - Oct. 28, 1989 "World Population Awareness Week." S.J.Res.160 1991: To renew "World Population Awareness Week" for 1991. S.J.Res.318 1992: To make Nov. 13, 1992 "Vietnam Veterans Memorial 10th Anniversary Day." S.J.Res.337 1992: To make Sept. 18, 1992 "National POW/MIA Recognition Day."
In 20 years of senate, what has John Kerry done to help improve America?
Anyone who even remotely follows video games should be expecting all three companies to have showings of the new consoles at E3 next year. Showings of anything would be good. With the exception of the Nintendo DS E3 2004 was not worth attending.
1) Price trumps style in the computer market
Sure they could drop into the cheap-o under $1k market, but what portion of their business model will need to go to maintain profit? Once you factor in costs of designers, software engineers, quality hardware, etc how can someone expect these machines to retail anywhere close to the PC market? They are not just slapping together some common parts from the lowest overseas bidder and installing a flaky OS here. There is a lot of quality in-house work that goes into these machines that needs to be compensated for somewhere. I'll wager that development costs of the operating system (or rather BSD tweaks now) and standard included software costs twice (if not more) per system than an OEM copy of Windows XP.
This has happened before. Take a look at a VIN for a car made prior to 1970. As a side, I sold a 1967 VW bug to someone out of state 5 years ago (I am in California, I believe they where in Nevada). Their DMV requirement was a notarized memo w/ VIN and title photocopy "proving" ownership in my state. I went to my bank at the time, Washington Mutual, who was unable to process it because a requirement was putting the VIN in their system. As it turns out their validation system would not accept my VIN because it was too short. I ended up having to get it done at another bank.
It is often useful for sites which would like to carry news but the primary objective of the site is not news. RSS is a standard way to receive the news from multiple sources and parse it using a standard class or function. An example would be an ISP members section. You could provide news stories or even securityfocus.com announcements updated automatically without any additional labor. This is a benefit to both parties in that it adds value to your site while at the same time drives traffic to the news supplier (hopefully for them increasing ad revenue).
All of us who already use their products on a daily basis via VMWare. I hope they can get Dreamweaver over the Linux soon. Then I could dump VMware and Win2k and reclaim my 256mb of ram those two use up everytime I run DWMX.
Microsoft makes the OS with all the holes allowing the spammers to send their messages *and* they want a piece of the email tax pie to stop it? Seems to me that if they wrote a secure OS in the first place we would not have such a big spam problem.
And how do you propose we go about forcing every software vendor and mail server "administrator" to use SMTP-AUTH? How would this help in stopping SPAM from worms acting as a mail server? As the parent pointed out SMTP is in need of some major updating and our solution to this SPAM problem lies in our ability to properly code a protocol with protections in place from the begining. SPAM filters, word checking, dnsbl, blacklists just patch the problem. Like putting a band-aid on a severed artery.
Gov. Davis is removed, the Lt. Governor should take his place and an election should be held for Lt. Governor
The problems began with the Lt Governor taking office (Gumby Davis). What people dont seem to realize is that a Lt Governor is no more qualified to run California than a soda can!
E3. They had it up front at the NOA booth. The US version does not have lights on it, but hey according to the Nintendo spokesperson it is supposed to have DTS and Dolby 5.1. Here is a picture I took of it:
I think our black ops missions cost more than sunken gold can afford.
But isn't it funny how Bush's record is so embarassing that he's essentially trying to run on Kerry's record instead?
What record? The 11 bills he passed in 20 years?

I've not had luck with onboard network cards on ASUS motherboards, though the onboard sound cards seem to work everytime.
