Yep and it comes from some unique sources, one being the new COD Black Ops 2 has a focus of 'cyber security' basically talking about how terrorists are going to take over all our unmanned drones and use them to kill people and such. Plus good old Activision got war criminal Oliver North to do some good old fear mongering for them, something he basically has made a career ever since the Iran-Contra Affair back in the day.

,p>While I don't really disagree with the last statement you make to assert that America's don't have live music or don't prefer it to CDs by some pop artist is silly.

What you're seeing here really is more of a disconnect between the Government and the people it is suppose to represent. The american government at this point is pretty much entirely owned by various corporations and private interests that don't represent the thoughts and will of the american people.

I'm pretty fed up with it and I want things to change but I really don't see what I can do, the FBI is busy trying to turn people into terrorists who are unhappy with the way the government is representing them. It doesn't matter if I vote for the right or left any politician I vote for is owned by someone, and most if not all the third party candidates are dubious or likely to be subverted the moment they become any more than 'third party' and or get seen as a threat to the status quo.

Even if the actual making from the book isn't the bulk of the cost, an actual book has the same associated costs for editorial, typesetting, proof-ready and any other costs as an Ebook would. There is no excuse for them being priced more expensive than the actual paper copy of the book when they cost less to produce.

  12. What about the price? on Sci-Fi Publisher Tor Ditches DRM For E-Books · · Score: 4, Interesting

Okay now lets do something about the price. I'm so tired of seeing ebooks that are as expensive as regular books or more expensive. There is no reason for it other than 'I want to' or 'I'm afraid of cannibalizing my own paper back sales'. They really should do some experiments lke Valve did with Steam so they can determine the proper pricing for an Ebook. As it is I don't buy stuff for my nook simple touch I got for Christmas simply because any book I want to buy it cheaper than the Ebook version 99% of the time. This is because I tend to buy used over new when I buy a book. The publishers pricing of their Ebooks isn't protecting their profits it's negating them yet no one seems to get it.

Sure our other power sources kill more people per year but it does so in ways that normal people can prevent and don't feel powerless against. I can do something to prevent myself from falling off a roof, or any other of mundane ways shit can go wrong with other power generation methods. I can't how ever do anything with regards to radiation once the shit hits the fan, other than hope I wasn't exposed to too much radiation and get as far away from the hotzone as possible and into quarantine and decon. Radiation is scary even if it is -safe-. My first reaction is always to 'scoff' at people who are antinuclear power too but there are some good reasons for their fears.
