IA64 is not desighned to be 64bit totaly but expanderable easyly
what this says to me is, to get press on server stuff so K7 doesn't !?
they are still signifactly tweaking the compiler !!
the actual silicon is not the hard part its the software IE the compiler
IA64 needs a *GOOD* compiler to even compete with alphas but a realy good compiler (years off) would kill an alpha at the same clockrate HP are doing TRIMERAN and many supercomputer centers have done research on how VLIW (sorry EPIC) work and could be better

I like the BSD stuff becuase it is creaky old code that many people have worked on and siad thats wrong I can do better and done it NT suffers from the same DOS attacks that BSD did *years* ago
open systems share developments bsd is open to a degree and has reckoned by the industry @ large THE stack to die for in terms of security and speed I know because I read the stuff that comes from HP and digital two firms that "engineer" products

re read it what does it say at the bottom. I am delectic sorry !
if you don't know what it means ask someone who deals with teaching english.
I can speak chinese fine.
basically it is a disability that means I have trouble spelling and formulating sentances (although like other deletics I am good at maths, problem solveing and sports)
sorry about that

can do this as the connection to the SGI monitor is a propriatry interface (god I cant spell) this mean although it is open it is not a VESA standard like the TNT2 claims to be so you need a speail graphics card No9 it is then
VESA fudged the digital interface and it will take a while to get venders surporting it as they chose a solution wich was hard to get working while the laptop people where saying HEY look at this to all the venders so hope and prey that nVidia did the right thing and went for VESA a poor student @ bournemouth uni in the UK (a deltic so please dont moan about spelling but the content)

Alan cox has a machine in his study and belive me HP-UX sucks as a user O/S
not bad as a server tho
come on HP sort it out I would love to see what happens when they sort out a compiler for these PA-RISC machine 450MHz and 64 bit with prediction like IA64
do it HP crush M$ and sort out linux HP is one of the BIG boys and they all seem to go to HP for their research when it all goes pear
like with intel and IA-64
ah well in for a long wait but go to Trimaran to see what compilers should be doing !

ok yes he got alot right which he should be comended for !
why although was it not made clear the pressures that M$ is under.
windows is becomeing the expensive part of a sub $500 machine
win2000 interface has serious drawbacks
the vunerbility because people discovering the bugs dont tell or fix them
my thoughts ^

err no sun make sure that they get into uni's so people know their hardware
SGI make you pay and well they should if you want supercomputers get a SGI
ok their software is top notch you are just no familair with it thats all a SGI user can walk up to it and expect it to be the same
you have to learn a bit

"may also imply development of the Linux TCP/IP code, which is not well regarded as it stands"
emm
where did these people come from I thought that the linux stack came from BSD and thats as fault tolerant as it get's
what are these people on!!
unless im wrong ???
a poor student @ bournemouth uni in the UK (a deltic so please dont moan about spelling but the content)
ok you want video and you want TB of the stuff
you want it fast
!!!! you dont want NT unless your hardware can get round the prob
SGI is where its @ people
all the rest are like patchs and fudges to make linux do this or research for the future which is a good thing.
but SGI do this for a liveing
THATS THE DIFFERANCE

intel has woken up because they have this in their labs for a V long time !
the idea that they could sort out unix world by just giveing out some of their tecnology and generate good press
what we need is for IA-64 stuff to be sorted out for instance the trimeran could be ported over to IA-64 it would help alot for ol gcc
and how about sorting out floating point with 3d now or streaming instructions ???
ah well good move well done Intel
referances GO TO IT >>>>> Trimaran
