Haha, no we didn't have the technology for something like that. Boy in those days, the amount of energy needed to accomplish something like that would make the earth quake!
I didn't spend all these years training to fight demons through Phobos' and Deimos' labs and processing facilities for nothing. I remember one time, I was knee deep in blood... It was hell.. Tibor
Thank you! I will try to remember that. I'll blame it on my ESL nature. (For years I used to pronounce "Kludge" as "fudge" with a K. No one knew what I was saying.)
Also, I see my original post is up to +3 insightful... Come on mods. Batch-chat?
When I need to reach my contacts on the blogosphere 2.0, to let them know, for example when I'm doing lunch, or taking a vac-a, I just que up my batch chat application, que up the chats in that, (including my questions and a list of possible answers) and presto.. 45 minutes later the batch is done, and all of my contacts are notified, and we had a meaningful (though somewhat predictable) conversation.
I don't know who really needs real-time chat, except maybe pilots, or UAV operators.
Well, seriously speaking, you'd think that alligators would have a lower copay because of their strong constitution then.
Can we get a few of those that run for the president. McCain, is pretty old and leathery, though, so maybe he is one of them in a clever disguise. But on the other hand, alligators have always struck me as democrats, ever since childhood. Don't know why. (I should mention that I did spend a lot of time watching Wally the Alligator as a child.)
Well, in this article, Bill Gates and Jim Allchin speak of the new technologies that will make it into the system. I for one am thrilled to see that it will feature a better DB based filesystem (This would be awesome for speedy searches, I mean come on, it's 2008 already, I don't want to wait for the computer to do a record search for the file I need...) But more importantly what I'd welcome the most is the one click application install that doesn't require a reboot! This would be just revolutionary.
Well, as a Bosnian though I can't speak for all of us, I don't think your national pride should be injured. Your government did resign in the acknowledgment of the error committed there. I don't think the Dutch were alone in the failure to protect Srebrenica, the whole "Blue Helmet" mandate was toothless.
But like I said, with the collective resignation of your government, even your politicians have shown great honor. Samurai kind of stuff...
Let's not forget who the bad guys in Srebrenica actually were.
Thanks. Well, he had it coming about the iPhone development. And I hope they start sticking some more powerful video cards in their consumer machines and show their true dedication to gaming. Right now I've got a Linux box for ETQW, and a couple of Macs for everything else.
Oh yeah. That'd be ideal. It's nice never having to restart my Ubuntu box. (well, other than when X zonks out.) OS X restarts do happen way too often due to updates.
The main question I have, is if John Carmack has anything to add to the discussion. With his latest interest in portable gaming, I hope he could see some value in the iPhone/touch platform. The screen on the phone is phenomenal (in terms of pixels/inch), touch gestures and accelerometers should add quite a few new exciting additions to the gaming world. I hope he has an intel Mac and time to download the beta of the SDK and try it out.
With Doom, or even Quake on my iPod touch, I don't think I'd ever leave the bathroom at work. (80% serious, 20% joking)
I too hate the quicktime updates because of the reboots. However, I now understand why it needs a reboot... Quicktime (not the player) is OS Xs video rendering subsystem (which works in conjunction with Quartz and OpenGL, one is for 2d, the other for 3d). Updating one of OS X's core systems is what requires a restart.
Easy on the asskissing Ben, it won't land you a job. What do you think? That he's some sort of a Sith? But best of luck in your future endeavors, just remember to stick to Unix, and not Windows.
My Sherlock Holmes skills tell me that your neighbour must have gotten unsecured wireless AP, as it's taken you a whole month to inquire about it!

Tibor
That's a pretty big grin on that smiley, but I'd like to introduce you to my standard creepy pic, the orangutan robot!
Well, at this rate I'd like to throw my hat in too, and announce that I'd like to buy Yahoo! as well.
Anyone else?
I'd also like to be taken into consideration as the father of Anna Nicole's baby.
He must be new here.
Now, maybe he could team up with Mat Dillon we'd have another blockbuster. That guy was awesome in "Crash".
But seriously folks, he plays World of Warcraft (through WINE!!)!!? Say no more, where do I lay my pitchfork down?
Thank you!

I'm a gamer, so I know your pain.
Now if I could just get more bandwidth from my router to lower my ping, I'd be all set.

Thanks Sir, and godspeed.
In a twisted turn of events, he just became John Carmack's bitch!
Yes, I know. I did say it was a twisted turn of events.
Right after the Lawnmower man.
(how's that for an obscure reference? I bet it will get Lost in the discussion though.)
Thanks.

-Microsoft Cube is hailing us, Captain! ...
-Bring it up on the main screen.
We are Microsoft. Resistance is futile. Prepare to be Embraced.
Ahh, shit, and I've just shut down the Vent Core for maintenance, and released the frogs. I do that *every* leap Friday!
?
I must be misunderstanding something, as I watch videos relating to personal fabrication almost daily.
I mean, I'm sure most of us here do. Right?
Wow. That was fantastic sir. (or Ma'm as it may be the case.)
