I'm not exactly pro-MS but DTech is correct. MSE is actually one of the better anti-virus programs for windows these days. You can't fault MS for snapping up a company/product that worked well and then including it for free in their (buggy and insecure) OS. It's at least one thing they did right.
While there are no US federal laws dictating that a business can refuse the payment in pennies, private business are still allowed to specify which forms of payment they will accept. Thus if you go into the Verizon store and try to pay an $80 bill with pennies, the Verizon store can refuse to accept it and ask that you pay in another form.
I hate websites (And particularly tutorial or news sites) that have that content delivery style. I want to be reading the WHOLE story, not clicking a link every paragraph to read more of it.
Much agreed with this. Mainline kernel does not need more untested kludgy garbage pushed into it from companies that didn't care to do shit right to begin with.
There is actually a difference between you talking to someone next to you in the care, versus talking on the phone. While talking to the person in the car, you're still paying attention to your immediate surroundings, passively speaking to the one next/behind you. When you're talking on a cell phone, a large portion of your brain is devoted to paying attention to the 'other world' on the other side of the cell phone, and concentrating at times on that persons voice to hear or understand them on shitty cell connections. Thus, you are more REMOVED from your immediate surroundings while speaking on a cell phone, anywhere. This translate to a very dangerous situation while doing things that demand concentration and attention, such as driving safely.
Soo... all these people bitching to the GNOME 2.x diehards saying : 'Why do you want to use a DE shitty as Win 95 era GUI'.... Could it be, as stated by those and even Windows users, that Win 95 GUI system was just fine for being productive and useful?? Look at all the new BS DE in any major OS, they're all going to shit.
Right, the default in GNOME 3 is the gnome shell, which does not use Compiz. So in order to get my usable desktop back, I'd have to go to 'gnome fallback mode' and install/use compiz. Thus, it is not truly GNOME 3 that is usable or active for me, its a compromise. Personally, I won't use Unity because it is worse then Gnome shell!
Is it -has- taken away my productivity. I have used GNOME 2.x and Compiz ever since there was such a matchup available, and it has come to be my 'perfect' desktop. For me, this involves being able to group and switch between windows ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_uAA9OK-jQ ) and window opacity based on mouse position ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg1qbw8pML4 ) . Unity, and GNOME 3 both cannot handle either of these, and so I still WANT to use Gnome 2 with Compiz. My other issues involve Unity and GNome 3 utilizing way more ram/cpu cycles than they should be, just for some fancy effects; craptacular decision to 'lets be like mac and put the menubar in the top panel' retardations; and one of the worst decisions I've seen to menu system, EVER.... that horrible 'take up 75% of your screen 'menu' box where you have to TYPE AND SEARCH for your program' . I Can do that just fine in a damn terminal, but when I'm using a GUI, point and click based DE, I -want- and need to be able to see all my items laid out in a logical manner, so I can quickly get to the item I want to use. Not spend longer attempting to find it through your convoluted search box.
I will not ever go back to using Verizon, either. I agree with AC sentiment towards 'fuck verizon'. This does -not- mean I will have to choose ATT/Sprint/Virgin Mobile or whatever. A cellphone is not a neccesity, I can do without.
That abandoning cellphones as a primary method of cost-effective communication is a great idea.
NetTalk/Ooma. $35 a year, landline service. You can just damn well wait till I can check my email/phone log at -home- . Beats the $250 a month for the absolute 'bare minimum' plans that Verizon will allow for two cellphone lines.
Apparently, Verizon doesn't have to abide by 'Federal Law' as they have changed my contract three times in the span of the year I've had it. Every single time I've attempted to cancel it, I've been hit with the 'You will have to pay an ETF to cancel the contract' regardless of -what- change they made.
Okay, this counter is... all about Linux , I get that. But its NOT news worthy. The site is designed pretty crappily as well as the error handling on server load. On top of that, the news summary says 'a modern redesign' of the website.... which still looks like about 2002 era, with some ajax thrown in. That is not modernization of an older concept.
and a self-selected type of IQ test. Not very 'scientific'. Oh, and this was 'news' about three days ago, but even then, hardly worth classifying as news worthy.
They are a retarded thing to try and 'show-off'. Who cares that it takes you 12 seconds to start doing something, when the system you load into can't even get past screwing things up release after release.
Ubuntu needs to fix it's many recurring, regressions, and add some functionality to other wise lacking programs/code.

Amarok 2.0 came out and I ditched it. Up until then, it had been for me the best music player I've ever used. The redesign really screwed it up.
There are more browsers than FF, Chrome, and IE.

Welcome to Starbucks, what can I get for you?
Yes it says 'no' to additional cruft. Read the info box on the main page of the link ninite.com

don't be nervous about system76. They are very reputable, make a great build, and fully support FOSS and Linux ( Ubuntu distro for now).
Empty wallets leave nothing to 'protest' with.

Fair use policy?? This is a fair use policy. What sprint (and every other telco) is doing is called a 'Fuck the Users' Policy.
Marketing vs Truth. Marketing should be illegal.
Same reason all other 'holidays' where created... to part you with your hard earned cash!

Ahh, that explains everything in an easy to understand, nerd approved format. I approve.
Is not news. Its old, its broken, and it will never be properly fixed up to the standard that people expect. Get over it, or get off it.
