  1. Re:No professional developer uses WYSIWYG on Ask Slashdot: Value of Website Design Tools vs. Hand Coding? · · Score: 1

    I agree.
I am a professional developer and I've used the newest version of Dreamweaver a couple months ago to build a few pages.
Dreamweaver is a lot better than it used to be. The coder view is a lot better and it actually keeps things formatted the way you want and has some nice autocomplete stuff with CSS and javascript. Ironically the design view is pretty much worthless. When you are using javascript and moving things dynamically it makes the WYSIWYG part of it useless. But as a tool for creating web sites it is actually pretty decent.
I normally use .NET do develop and I never use the WYSIWYG view thing, I always manually edit the aspx manually.
Only an amateur would use WYSIWYG to build a site.

There are no phones with high end hardware this small anymore. The only small droids are the budget ones with single core processors.
Is it really that much to ask for a phone with a sub 4" screen with high end hardware? I don't want an xbox in my pocket.

And the money they put into developing them has gotten ridiculously higher. A typical game takes around 3 years to make with hundreds of people working on it to finish. A typical NES game could be made by a handful of people in less than a month.

Yes, there are good games on the Wii but there are tons of games not possible on the Wii, especially for first person shooters. You can barely see anything in 4 player split screen because you have 320x240 resolution for each player's screen area. You are extremely limited in making accurate shots because the resolution isn't there to give you accuracy. You can't display advanced things on the GUI because the text is too hard to read unless it is gigantic at that resolution. Yes there were games on previous consoles that worked, but modern games take advantage of the resolution with a lot of features that aren't possible at low definition.

I stopped buying EA games when every single one started having a web interfaced that required me to download a browser plug-in to launch a windows EXE on my local hard drive.
I don't want to download your shitty browser plug-in and be forced to use a shitty browser just to launch the game. I want to click one button to launch the executable and be in the game.
I won't spend $70 on any EA game. I won't even play a Free to Play EA game because of this.

You can use NVIDIA 3D Vision with the red/cyan glasses on any display. I think all of the new NVIDIA cards support it. I'm not sure about the budget ones but they probably do too. Basically any 3D program that uses DirectX 9 or newer works with it.
