Those who follow Islam are termed Muslims, which probably makes sense in some non-English language.
'Muslim' means 'submitted' - ie. to what they believe is God's will.
Muslims follow a magical book called The Koran, which is a slightly less lengthy version of the Holy Bible.
The Koran is actually quite at odds with the Bible, has a completely different format, layout etc. Unlike the Bible, the writings in the Koran only really fit into one genre. The Bible has many different genres of writing. Muslims teach that the Bible is wrong and only use it when it agrees with whatever it is they are saying.
The main difference of the Koran however is that is removes from it's portrayal of God any great degree of Promise, Justice, Faithfulness, Sacrifice and Forgiveness and instead shows a whimsical being that we just have to kowtow to with the knowledge that no matter how great our love and obedience to Him is, He could just send us to Hell on a whim anyway.
...primarily on the part of known pedophile Muhammad:
Muhammad married a 6-year-old girl and had sex with her when she was nine.
The only thing I can wonder though is, Why haven't they done this before? Also great for if you've got an officer down. Unless they take his radio that is...
Unfortunately medicine, just like any other industry is driven by profit.
Eli Lily pushed Prozac and got it approved in many countries even though it causes psychotic episodes in 18% of patents. They even send sample packs to GP's so they can hand them out to patients. Psychiatry in itself is a whole sham, pushing drugs which will never heal the patient, when in many cases counseling or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy will bring about a cure.
Myself, I used to have terrible problems with allergies and get awful migraines. Once I stopped taking pain-killers and antihistamines the problems largely abated. Haven't taken anti-biotics in 13 years and I reckon I get over any nasties I catch mor quickly than I used to. Very rarely get sick though!
The amount of useless drugs administered and useless surgery performed won't go down while there's money to be made. The pressure will always be on the medicos. Either from the drug companies or for the payments on the new sports car.
That's the problem. You guys are talking from a non-Australian view-point. We've always had censorship. You can live in a cesspit yourselves, but don't inflict your views on us! Different is not always wrong.
A second nitpicking: my experience with KDE4 has been the opposite of yours. Other than the new Konsole, and Okular; I find it a disaster. In any case, I don't think KDE or Gnome are particularly fast DEs.
I think I have the advantage of not having used KDE3.5 or earlier. KDE4 was the first one I said, "I'm going to spend a week using this". As a full Desktop Environment, both Gnome and KDE4 are slugs to run. I think KDE4 is a good deal faster though. Gnome has all the get-up-and-go of the slug that found the hippy commune's 'crops'.
Ubergeek. Dialup in Linux is often a pain cos modem manufacturers cut corners by producing cheap software run or 'winmodems' designed to work with Windows only with the driver replacing more solid hardware controllers. There are solutions, but they often ain't pretty...
Though, just wait: Microsoft will buck the trend, trying to be a trend-setting force in the market, and come out with some sort of derivative. Like, maybe, Brainorgy. Or Wetware. Or something like that.
No they won't. They'll keep the 'storm' suffix but add something slightly different to the front so they can get a Trademark on it.
The approach that KDE has taken to controls is pretty darn good in my books. Installed a test case in a household of several computer illiterate international students. Not a problem. If they can manage the controls fine, then pretty much anyone can (barring bigots and anal-retentives who still think that everyone has to learn the CLI or stick to one OS etc. of course).
Thanks Hucko. I've actually never done a Kubuntu install. Only installed kubuntu-desktop and other packages on top of a current Ubuntu installation. Konqueror is ok for a few things, but not as an everyday browser. Some of the other KDE apps are way ahead of the gnome equivalents though. Dragon will deal with DVD menus that mplayer and totem won't even look at for instance. For those on dial-up, KPPP is really good. Gnome-ppp just won't work for me. The KDE grub manager is pretty neat as well I guess, but I really don't know why a GUI is needed for something as simple as editing a GRUB menu.lst file.
note for above - you will need to install Firefox after your Kubuntu install as I'm not sure if it is installed by default. Do this through the package manager.
Get an Asus netbook or something (if funds allow) with Splashtop on the motherboard. Otherwise an Asus m/b for a desktop with splashtop. Otherwise set up Kubuntu (the version of Ubuntu/Kubuntu coming out in April is supposed to cut boot times) with a Firefox icon on the Desktop and put anything else she uses in favourites in the menu. KDE4 is pretty easy to use.
You enter the intersection under a green or yellow. Traffic stops ahead of you. Yer stuck in the middle of the intersection. Photo taken of you in intersection. No indication of velocity. Fair cop? Reasonable doubt?
If the sensors that cue the camera are that dodgy it would take photos of everyone traveling along the other road of the intersection when they have the green. No. The camera is cued when you cross the line.
We've always had some forms of censorship in Australia, which is generally tacitly approved of/ accepted. The problem is that the current federal government has a strong bias towards abortion. Censorship is one thing and, in the general Australian ethos, in the public's interest. Stifling public debate on killing the innocent unborn is another.
in case some of our international readers missed it;)
The international readers would like to point out that we will not miss your bare arses.
Had you been french or italian ladies, things would have been different.
Kind regards,
The International Readers
couldn't this also be used as a weapon?
With Man's record to date, its only a matter of time...

Koran? I think you mean the Hadiths.
rusty rails. These are not used.
Or not used frequently. There are no weeds in the ballast and the rust is light. I'd say at least weekly use or more.

I've also heard of DUIs for riding horses, camels and horse-drawn carts here in Australia.
PS. Pedants please be annoyed. Hahaha.
Hmm. Now I know what their doing this year... I thought Gmail Paper was funnier...
No I don't get it. What's the external object?
*Sigh* The application on the computer called 'SelfControl'...
Only if you try to use the rat's skin in clothing afterwards!
Does anyone else find it ironic that SelfControl uses an external object to enforce compliance?

You forgot Swedish ladies.
It was the strangest thing. Everyone I spoke with in that airport said that they just felt like bugs scurrying around...
Try reading #6 he does make a rather good point.
Na. There's some decent evidence for gravity.
