    You could create highly reactive intermediates that would allow you to do new things (what for instance would this do to carbon dioxide and hydrogen)?

    I was disappointed that the best thing they could come up with was applications in quantum computing- there could be a host of novel synthesis based on this bond.

    Some guy in China went into a child care center and killed half a dozen people with an axe a few days ago. Your right, these kind of things don't happen with guns in those countries.

    Microsoft has publicly stated for some time now that Windows XP support will end 2014. Why would they release a new version of office that will only be supported for a year? And what business would be hot to immediately upgrade their version of office and still be on XP?

    Please do a better job of supporting the 'ploy' by Microsoft.

    Airplanes doing short hops don't reach their altitude ceiling either. I am not sure why you are requiring 4000mph for short distances.

    Why not make the vacuum where the train is? Use a plasma to reduce the density of the air at the front of the train... similar concept to the cavitation torpedoes.

    The theory is the existence of the Higgs field and calculations predicted that under a set of conditions the Higgs Boson can exist.
    So this is just one way of confirming the existence of the Higgs field.

    In real laymen way to explain it is it's named the Higgs field so it kind of fits in the family of things like magnetic fields or gravitational fields.

    I don't like to sit in one position all day, I like to get up walk around and change my position in the chair frequently. In fact, sitting in one position too long can increase your risk stroke.

    I can't think of any case physiologically where no movement is preferable unless you are injured.

    The logical conclusion to all of this is a cell phone that connects wirelessly to touch-screens, keyboards and monitors and all of your computing is done in a single small device.
