You can load your computer full of RAM and load Windows after PXE booting from NFS/iSCSI. Its the only way I've heard of running Windows without a HDD.
Don't forget explorer.exe! And when it crashes while running 3 programs, you won't be able to load the System Monitor to close the unresponsive program.
Its not called mandrake any more, it's MANDRIVA! And there's Mandriva One, Mandriva Powerpack, and Mandriva Flash. Also, don't forget RHEL for mainframes, RHEL Advanced Platform, RHEL Server, and RHEL Desktop.
I'm finding it hard to see how the drivers are garbage. Both OpenSuSE & Ubuntu have the work done for you.
Hardware-wise, AMD uses crossfire to hit the high-end, and aims for mainstream. See Anandtech's article on the RV770 for more info.
I wouldn't spend the money for something made by Intel or nVidia unless I knew it was a good value. The trophy for making the fastest creates quite the money pit.

The one I had already could hold up my desktop with a 21" CRT for 27 minutes.
My UPS only lasts 3 minutes, and that's with a 21W flat panel!
