1- Get people to download a new os each boot
2- Be the only place to get it from
3- Begin charging for each boot
4- Code in more reasons for automatic reboots and crashes
5- Profit
Bawww, someone who doesn't fit my idea of conformity! Maybe we should put everyone who writes the month first in a camp. That sounds like a great idea! Oh wait...
On one hand I think some people would want to take it down to go in history as the person who took down the Internet. On the other, they'd probably end up ripped apart by the hordes of WoW players who are forced out of their basements by the lack of Night Elf cleavage.
Heh, speaking of the "too big to fail" idea, I'm always reminded of the Foundation Trilogy by Isaac Asimov, and how the Empire was "too big to fail".. until it collapsed.
Though I'm also a Linux user, that's a huge pet peeve of mine from back when Mac users were like "lawl no viruses 4 me!!" Great, you use Linux. Don't need to be so pompous about it.
Sure, this is fine for private schools, but at a lot of public universities a large amount of students are broke and trying to pay their own way through school. Getting rid of the computer lab would be a huge handicap for them, so I just don't think this would be feasible for other campuses
Good God, reading that made me think of those kids in 1984. That's kind of scary. Anywho, doesn't matter how much you foster your kids, they'll do some things in private away from you. Sure, it may not be like smoking pot in a friends garage or some such, but no kid tells their parent _everything_, even the ones that are close to their family.
This is kind of a duh thing, isn't it? When the economy goes south, crime of all sorts that leads to profit increases. There just happens to be a lot of people out there with enough background knowledge in IT to make a profit off of criminal acts in IT.
sudo apt-get install wesnoth-all set for a good long time :D
also, sudo apt-get install wine and install it through the !emulator

God no. No more protestfags, plzkthx.
To be fair, I think a majority of regulars on /. are libertarian.

Saved.
Actually Prozac is prescribed for people who need to calm the fuck down, mr. "Oh look at me, I'm a badass on the Internet, lulerskate"
Prozac.
I get a completely different image from "pimping a mount" than putting a cannon on a horse .
Feels good, man.
Slashdotters, the finest detectors of sarcasm on the Internet.
whats this going to be, movie 15 by now?
You're stuck on the tower? You're so screwed when you get to the 8 queens problem. :p

It's a big assumption thinking students can connect to the campus network. I'm using Linux and we're "not allowed" on the network without windows.
700 is a months worth of work. I would rather eat than HAVE to buy a laptop.

Unless she used a private album with preferences set for him only. Then again, I don't think a lot of kids think that far ahead.
How old are your kids? If they're younger than 16, give it time. If they're 16+, you may just not know about it.
Didn't know about that, awesome. Thanks :D
Now if only they'd get Pidgin or something to work with webcams for IMing. Still can't get it to work on aMSN or Mercury :/
