I had an '85 mitsu montero. Driving to Winona for buck hunting in the fall of say '90. On the interstate from Chicago through Wisconsin traffic was light and I tapped the break to disconnect cruze. The engine revved, the disconnect failed, I was in gear with a stick. I thought damn this sucks. I shifted to neutral. The Engine redlined. I turned the ignition partially off cutting the engine and power steering. At this point the car slows down pretty quick (from 65mph). I pulled onto the shoulder and braked with the hand (parking) brake. The brake hardly did anything but the car did eventually stop.
I popped the hood and could see that the cruze vaccuum pump was seized in the full on position. So I disconnected the cable with a screw driver. That released the throttle lever arm. Then I pulled the fuse for the cruze. Started the engine. Continued on my way. Got to Winona. Drank some Schmidt Beer. Got up super early and snuck into my spot. When the sun rose I had a 10 point hog in my sights ripping up the hillside and I wasted him with a single slug to the boiler.
The newer ones have Discrete IR code support for progrramming your cool remote.

Anyone get the digitizer working under linux/X on the Fujitsu Stylistic ST4110 yet?
The digitizer requires a serial interface to the system to pass coordinate info through. Given that the legacy serial ports have vanished does anyone known where Fujitsu parked the data? I am guessing that they are buried as some device on either a USB bus or a PCI bus...
I borrowed a demo of this tablet with the Active digitizer for a week but couldn't find the interface in that time.
Also, linuxslate.org doesn't have it figured out yet. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated possibly with $.
This makes some sense. Think for 1 second about what they sell/give away. Overclocking is a recipe for destroying hardware. Who is going to rate that well? Geil's copper thermal compound is a tool you use to fry your shiny new $450 video card. Put a dab too much on and you are toast.

This is a driver/support question.
I want to buy HP's new Legacy Free Tablet and run linux on it for an industrial application.
This tablet uses a digitizer that is similar to one that has a linux driver however the interface to the digitizer (http://www.linuxslate.org) ie active pen. Now this driver requires a Serial interface. But on Legacy Free PCs there is no traditional serial interface.
Does HP have any interest in supporting Linux on this device? Why not?
I am currently using Fujitsu LT-P600s running Gentoo.
Our business runs Linux. We have depricated M$ and their products. We are fast. Our expenses went down hugely. Our services are reliable. We buy the best commodity components and build all our own machines. Life is good.
Remember that Bill Gates is a Convicted Monopolist. And his company - Microsoft is a convicted Monopoly. The Findings Of Fact stand.
Now if she asks me what to do with em? I'd say shackle the lot of them to a yard arm in a blow.
She'll never ask.... So windows Should be Open Sourced - GPL it for God's sake. How many times have we paid for it? And Microsoft should be banned from bungling IE with the OS. Then split them up. OS, S/W tools on the left, Office, apps on the right. Now Force Gates to sell out All shares in the OS side of the business. Umm IE source goes with Both businesses. That'll keep them busy for a while.
This looks like a classic bit of diversion. OK Geeks its ok now - stop making so much noise. Then when you lease expect it... Am I paranoid? No. I just know that Hollywood paid Lots of Dinero for this bill. And it will pass. Just when you least expect it. Maybe it will be the House version this time with Yet Another Acronym Crap sprinkled on top.
Seriously,
Take 2 - use the 2nd as a backup -
They want to track who has this feature
dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdb
how hard was that?

I'll never forget that hunt.
Try 1280x720. The VESA timings are in the back of the manual.

Ummm Playstation2 runs Linux. So what is your point?
PS2 runs linux. How many games work on that? 2 Billion?
Echelon?
Sadly, this idea rocks. Mod this guy up.
"question is: Can a band of biologists who share data freely out-innovate the corporate researchers who hoard it?"
Unless this isn't 'biology' the human genome project has already succeeded in beating out a private commercial project with the human genome map.

Why don't you try emerging emerge?
Did you try flashing the bios with the current release?
