    I have that game on both my Atari 2600 and my Commodore 64 (but with a different name). It's unique in being one of very few games that uses the hi-resolution mode (320x240), since it's only two colors.

    Most games of the period used 160x240 to allow multicolor mode.

    Dumb. Lawyers exists because they are the "engineers" of the law, and know how it works (inside and out). It is ridiculous to try to do a job where you have zero experience.

    - As for Apple, it never surprised me their corporate culture would return to the Apple of Pre-Steve Jobs (pre-1997). The old Apple Board drove themselves to the same bankruptcy that killed Commodore and Atari in 1994/96 respectively, and now that board is back in power.

    I always read that Microsoft had a policy of using its Own software, so the staff could easily identify bugs & bad user interfaces (and improve them). Maybe they've abandoned that philosophy.

    They VOLUNTARILY shutdown their project. They didn't have to shut it down..... not until a judge issues an official order, which did not happen in this case (there's not even a lawsuit yet). /u/stevew

    I wish I could blame Trump, but in my home state the DEMOCRATS are in control (75% majority). It was the Democrats that pushed to phase-out paper ballots (which worked perfectly) and replace them with computers (which can be hacked/miscounted).

    It was also the Democrats that turned my home state into the most gerrymandered state in the country: https://www.washingtonpost.com...

    HONESTLY:

    I think both parties suck ass. I wouldn't trust any GOP or DNC politician with the key to my house.

    (1) The paper can be quickly scanned by machine, for a same-day tally.

    (2) However the stacks of paper ballots will provide a verifiable audit trail, which can be hand-counted if the machines' integrity is doubted.

    The main flaw with today's system is NO audit trail exists (which is probably what the political bosses want).

    In the 2017 software crash they had to cancel 150 flights. Figure $200 per set, that's 4.3 million dollars (gross loss). In 2016 they canceled over 1000 flights, so that's 28.8 million (gross).

    - Since the planes didn't fly the actual loss is less (no fuel burned, no hours paid to stewards/pilots, etc).

    Outsourcing to India reduces salary cost from $113,000 to $9000 per engineer. I don't know how many engineers Delta IT uses? 1000 maybe?

    DELTA SAVES $104 million in labor costs.

    I understand your cynicism, but it is misplaced. More-and-more surgeries that used to require multiple days of recovery, are now being replaced by minimally-invasive procedures that only require a single afternoon. The same will be true with appendicitis treatment.

    In California our local government is paying us to remove outrlawns. Many people now have wildflowers and desert-type plants. Advantage: Very little maintenance required, saves water, saves fossil fuel, reduces pollution, saves $30/week

    You sound like the workers who complained when they stopped making Carriages and Horsewhips. Yeah I'm sorry those men got laid-off, but society "progressed" beyond the horse-and-carriage days. Unions should not stand in the way.

    Warner Brothers is also lenient when it comes to fan-made Babylon 5 sites. They only require we include a Trademark and Copyright notice on the bottom of the page to protect WB's IP.

    Most of these letters have ZERO legal weight, and get thrown-out when submitted to courts. While CBS owns the appearance of the TNG Enterprise, the law clearly allows derivative works (such as parodies and fan-inspired art).

    Only a JUDGE has the power to shutdown this endeavor, not some Intern at CBS writing cut-and-paste form letters.

    I recently purchased a business laptop, and even though I would have preferred Windows 7 or 8......... I had no choice. Windows X was the only option.

    Which sucks (it ties up the internet with constant, non-skippable updates).

    I just learned that today. Some claim UPS workers provide better service than FedEx workers, due to UPS workers being unionized.

    The Lane-keep Assist can't see through pouring rain either. Those Audi and BMW drivers are endangering themselves and others.

    Of course, this isn't really a problem with just new cars. Even in old cars, my fellow Californians drive in mountaintop snow as if it's still a sunny day! Coming from the snowy northeast, I think it's insance to see people doing 80 mpg when it's snowing, but Californians don't know any better.

    - In all of these cases, they just have no clue that they should "slow down" in dangerous conditions. Some don't even turn-on their headlights when it's raining & hard to see. Probably a lack of thinking.

    Note he used the word "pattern", so in his opinion Google is making mistake after mistake.

    I guess you didn't read the fucking summary: "I directed the ad to display to a Facebook account connected to the landline number for Alan Mislove's office; a number Mislove has never provided to Facebook. He saw the ad within hours."

    So Facebook already had the phone number, even though Mislove didn't provide it..... probably extracted from the white pages (phonebook).

    They wanted to help Hillary... therefore they were biased.

    I'm glad someone mentioned Hillary. She did the same thing as this convicted felon, but faced no consequences. (Even a trial that ended "not guilty" would have been better than nothing.)

    Two justices exist in this world: Us and them. Us get punished and Them rarely do, even when they break the same laws.

    (1) Stop watering the plant and drowning the wasps, and they will stop attacking you.

    (2) I've had wasp nests under the roof of my house. They don't ever bother me, because I ignore them.

    (3) I'm more scared of Africanized honeybees than wasps. Those suckers don't just sting. They kill.
