I'm guessing that Capitol Security made a (proper) judgement call that it was safer to let him make a controlled landing instead of shooting him down and having fragments rain down.
That and they were warned multiple times by different people that he was going to do this. He stated his intentions on the internet before doing it and some of the journalists watching called it in about a half an hour before he landed. I read this in an article on my phone so I don't have the link anymore unfortunately.
When people are randomly selected for groping it's ok, but when someone is actually choosing who gets groped it's not ok and that person needs to be fired? What if the groping was equal to standard gropings? Could we use a pseudorandom number generator for extra screening or must it be truly random?
Someone should teach these guys it's not the selection process that makes it sexual assault.
I'm in a similar situation. Hillary is awful but if a Republican wins then net neutrality is most likely dead. I'm not really sure what to do about this.
I think you're kind of missing the point. It's all about perspective.
Yes, and the one above regarding firearms and vehicles was flawed. Deeply so. Did you miss that point? Did you not grasp it? Was it unclearly expressed? If so, let me emphasize it, the point I was making in regards to the above post by jittles was a deeply flawed and distorted perspective that served little purpose beyond confusing the issue.
Guns, which are designed to kill, do so much less often than accidental deaths from a tool people use every day.
Now you see the point being missed, right? That people use cars every day, far more so than the usage of guns, the exposure is far greater, but the only number you, and the above poster, seem to care about, is the raw number.
Do you not see why that's a flawed perspective?
No I'm afraid it's you who is still missing the point. But given the rest of your rant I'm not surprised.
Speaking of police shootings, I saw where several countries besides the US, had considerably lower rates of police shootings. Namely that the whole country had fewer shootings than some departments in the US have had, and no, I'm not talking countries like Andorra and San Marino, but Germany, Japan, the UK, and others, and no, I'm not talking about single incidents, but over a period of time.
Let's not factor them out, but seriously discuss the issue of police violence in the US.
Yes, we do have a problem with police shootings. But it's completely irrelevant to a discussion about allowing civilians to own guns. Just like how a police officer shooting someone trying to stab him with a knife being included with random school shootings creates misleading statistics about gun violence.
We could also discuss the gang violence if you wanted, and the countries where the homicide rate from such is far lower, but then we might as well discuss where gang violence comes from, but that's probably a verboten topic, as too many people would have to give up their sacred cows. And before you come back with any rejoinders, realize that may apply to any you offer.
Again, gang violence is also an issue. But it's a cultural issue and it is isolated to certain areas. And it tends to happen between gang members. I would be interested to see how much it skews gun violence numbers so we could get a better picture of the danger of guns to the rest of society.
Thanks for the rant though. I don't know why I'm even bothering to reply to an AC.
I think you're kind of missing the point. It's all about perspective. Guns, which are designed to kill, do so much less often than accidental deaths from a tool people use every day. I bet if we removed police shootings (because nobody is going to take guns away from police) and split out the statistics for gang violence (because they will probably just use knives if they can't get guns and most of those guns are illegal anyway) the numbers would be quite a bit lower. Most anti-gun sentiment comes from irrational fear from people who have never even handled one.
As a fun side note: some of the strictest anti-gun laws in California were created by Leland Yee, who was arrested for gun trafficking. And Feinstein, who is very anti-gun, used to have a concealed carry permit.
With California's election system it doesn't have to be a Republican. People just need to vote for another Democrat in the primary. The 2 candidates with the most votes in the primary advance, regardless of party. Anyway, I read somewhere that she isn't running again in the next election (unless I'm confusing her for Boxer, who is not planning to run again in 2016). Kamala Harris, current Attorney General of CA, is the frontrunner for Boxer's seat. Harris is awful but some people, especially gun owners, are hoping she gets elected to the Senate so we don't have to deal with her as AG anymore.
Yeah at this point I'm pretty sure the lawsuits are just to buy time and drag their feet until they can get Congress involved or some FCC commissioners replaced.
ADHD is affected by diet. You can google it. I'm pretty certain I have ADHD so I looked it up. I started taking fish oil dietary supplements (because I don't eat fish) and eating more pears and it has definitely had an effect.
So I take it when the Enlightened One asks you to follow him to the underworld you will not answer his call, despite admitting to using his mystical devices for your own purposes?
Bob Lutz is one of the good ones. He is now retired from GM, for the second time if I recall. He also worked for Lotus for a bit as well as plenty of other companies. He wrote a book called "Car Guys vs. Bean Counters" where he talked about fighting management at GM as it was shifting from making cars people want to cutting corners to save money (admittedly, I haven't read it. If I was a big reader it would be high on my list though). Sound familiar? And what he's saying in the article isn't wrong:
But they are going to have to do a next generation of car, which is smaller and with new types of batteries that give a range of two to three hundred miles.
And until they do that, it's going to remain a fringe brand.
So he isn't bashing them. If anything he is predicting how they could become very successful.
I doubt that would work. I assume that in order for them to "sell" the car in a different state you would have to register the car in that state, which requires you to be a resident of the state.
And for your convenience gnome 3 removed the partial matches from the alt + f2 window. So much more elegant without all those pesky icons showing up. Also, good luck remembering what the the true name of the calculator is!

Or the fact that the nautilus window doesn't have a minimize button. Because who minimizes things?
At least in California you can store your gun however you want *unless* you have reason to believe there will be children in your home. In which case if they get a hold of the gun and hurt someone you are responsible if you didn't have the gun locked somehow. This is one of the few reasonable California gun laws. There is so much backlash about any gun restrictions because lawmakers are constantly proposing stupid gun laws. Like the repeated attempts in California to make it difficult to get ammo and to track every ammo purchase. As if someone is going to walk into a school with 10K rounds in his backpack. To non gun owners: ammo is extremely heavy. Most people planning a killing spree aren't going to drag around a cart with 10K rounds. Tracking ammo purchases will just tell you who goes out shooting a lot.
The idea for this type of gun lock is not new. The fear is that once the technology is there it eventually becomes mandatory. See all the mess over microstamping. And most gun owners don't want to deal with the extra electronics for a safety device they don't need.
Everyone criticizing them seems to be missing the important part: We need self-driving cars so we can have self-driving flying cars. I don't trust most people to handle a flying car but self-driving actually becomes easier when crossroads can be handled on different positions on the Z axis. Don't ruin it, jerks!
Good plan. Pay the Chrome team to make Bing the default. Even if they paid Mozilla I doubt Mozilla would be willing to bury the Google option like Microsoft does in IE.
I have the Asus Transformer Prime 201 with the Tegra 3 and it is/was a pretty damn good CPU. The tablet is still quite useful despite being a few years old. I skipped the Tegra 4s and have been waiting for K1 powered tablets. I do a fair bit of gaming on my tablet and I can't wait to see what developers do with the K1.
Then I assume you know NVIDIA just came out with their K1-powered SHIELD tablet that is focused on gaming and also has a decent stylus. 8 inches, 16GB wifi only version is $300. It's the first tablet to check all of the boxes for me so I ordered one last week (though it's still not here).

You tend to lose more rights due to a felony conviction, so in a way it is more serious. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

There's also plenty of controversy surrounding the Clinton Foundation.

So you say your police and courts often hit on people in ways that are unpleasant to the listener?
I hear touching people's balls makes everyone much more secure. Or is it insecure? Oh well better do it anyway just in case.
This sounds like the perfect route for my self driving car!
So bankers don't know how to use smartphones?

How many posts until someone finds a way to still hate on him, despite the fact that he's done more for the poor than all of us put together?
How many Apple fans will make fun of him, in spite of the fact that Steve Jobs never gave a dime to charity?
How many of you will take a potshot at Microsoft, even though Bill hasn't worked there in years?

He stepped down as chairman of Microsoft in February 2014, taking on a new post as technology advisor to support newly appointed CEO Satya Nadella.
Board member of: Microsoft, Berkshire Hathaway
He still works at Microsoft and the rest of your post is absurd. I believe the correct response here is to mark this post "troll".
Also Claritin-D. (Apparently it's the D part which is Sudafed). It works well on my sinuses but also gives me palpitations.
