I too concur that something happened at Newegg last November that has greatly increased their suck factor.
After 10 years and over $100k in purchases, only since last November has it become difficult placing orders, receiving items predictably, previously opened boxes, wrong items, etc.

PC's are the gatekeepers of politics, they are the ones that decide who gets on the ballot, who leads the party, from local leaders to national. If you meetup with other likeminded PC's, encourage others to become PC's your small contribution now does make huge waves of difference later on. This is exactly how the Tea Party made huge waves in the last election.
We can continue to spend hours complaining about it, listening to talking heads complain about it, or actually do something about it.

Two main reasons for shorter than advertised CFL life:

    1. Build quality.
The first bulbs to the mass market were larger, slow starting low frequency bulbs. I still have two of these on my garage door opener since 1999. Despite the GDO vibrating them 4 times a day or more and AZ summer heat they still work.
The capacitor plague infected CFLs badly throughout the 2000s. This combined with higher frequency quick starting bulbs made many do live a shorter life than incandescents.

    2. Non-optimal usage.
CFL life is significantly shortened when not cooled down for at least 15 minutes prior to restart. Using CFLs in high traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, etc will see shortest life. Consider using LED lighting in these areas.

I think another important question is how many charging stations can be run simultaneously at service station?
My guess is one or two unless it is near thicker legs on the grid. What is it going to be like when there are 8 cars in front of you needing charged?
How many EVs charging in peoples garages at night will be enough to require peak power generation for this duration at higher rates?
What steps have local utilities taken?
I only ask this because I remember very well when the western US lost power in the summer of 97 and here in sunny AZ power could not be restored until very late in the night because of too many home HAVC units trying to start simultaneously.
I sure hope the right people are asking this, because if not we are in for a world of hurt when gas is +$9/gal and rolling blackouts occur and/or skyrocketing utility rates due to mass adoption of EVs.
Don't get me wrong, this is a good start, but I don't hear much talk this. I hope all goes smoothly as I plan on owning an EV as my next vehicle in a few years.

No, when I am voting to reduce the size of government and taxes I am voting my lack of confidence in government to solve problems and to do anything meaningful with my hard earned money. When I vote for someone to a particular office I vote on their integrity, leadership, and qualifications. People like this can get much more done on much less of a budget, I promise. Sadly the media likes to ignore these fine folks due to a lack of scandal. Scandal is what keeps them in business. Perhaps those that write their paychecks (advertisers and stakeholders) are also enjoying things the way they are too. Perhaps it is the appetite of the viewer for this trash.
While my example is more on the federal level, the same applies locally.
As long as incompetent people are in power, problems will not get solved no matter how much money is thrown at it. Just look at the Charlie Foxtrot we are in now. Can you honestly say that the trillions that have been pissed away have really solved anything? Do you really believe that more money given to incompetent people to expand more incompetence will work? Has it ever worked?

No, the real problem is millions of uninformed people like you thinking that you are doing your civic duty by not researching for yourself who is actually qualified before voting for them. Letting the tv, newspaper, or whatever media tell you what rich guy to vote for. By ignoring the many more qualified candidates on the ballot that scarce get mentioned in any form of media and choosing only amung the options given to you by them. Allowing them to persuade you to vote for the 'lesser of the evils' while marginalizing integrity.

Out of the many many years I've been using TPB only once did I ever download a torrent that was an infection.

Perhaps this is true of only the infections that manifest themselves?
To really qualify this statement you would have had to carefully analyze your system state prior to the download and after deploying it. Not very many people have the expertise, time, resources to do this. What if the trojan's payload was time delayed? Would you know where and when the infection took place?
I only bring this up because I've encountered a few stealth malware that were completely undetectable using conventional tools. Even connecting the HDD to a clean system for a battery of scans revealed nothing. The computer operated perfectly normal to the user but firewall logs continued to report massive amounts of outbound port 25 connections to every country on the planet to spread the word of Viagra. It would do it in random 10 minute spurts every few hours in an effort to not raise alarm or it was trying to be funny.
You are downloading untrusted software from an untrusted source and base your trust in the reputation of someone on a pirate website and comments posted by other downloaders. How many of these commenters would have actually noticed the above malware or even cared? If only a few did actually post a warning would anyone take it seriously? If it activated months later would they have even known what download it came from to report it?
The bottom line is, unless every piece of code running on your PC came from trusted media/sources you cannot be certain that you did not infect your system. The moment a single piece of code is executed from an untrusted source you can have no certainty.
