Actually I did rather like it, and Addendum adds quite a bit as well. I just think its a bit funny when people repeat things from it almost verbatim. Excuse me for being cynical.
I saw an IMAX movie with 3D shutter glasses roughly 10 years ago. This was a real IMAX in a museum, not one of the IMAX (C) things they pack into normal multiplexes today. I agree that a typical theater would not invest in them.
Can you see circular Polarization? Does Real3D or IMAX 3D work for you? Same difference, the filters are just used to control which image reaches which eye.
When PoL changed the FFXI system to require the Verified by Visa or Mastercard Securecode, this is exactly what happened. People got their accounts stolen anyway, but couldnt get charges reversed because they had used this supposedly more secure PIN system. Too bad the PIN only needed to be entered once, ever, and then you could change all the other info.
Probably intermediate infrastructure. I've got a 20mb connection that tested at 19.998 or something like at peak times. I regularly get 2.0 MegaBytes/s on bittorrent, which if it downloaded sequentially could probably allow 1080p streaming.
They still need people on the regular cpu client too since the gpgpu client can only solve certain datasets. I run the PS3 client which is a little different than the other two. I'd run the smp version on my quad core pc but its horribly inefficient in windows last I checked.
When was this? I recall I had an ~8Gb seagate drive that would only operate in a certain orientation and sometimes required a little convincing to get spinning after a power down.
There was an interesting in-between technology that forget the name of that had a code printed in the tv-guide that you could enter into the vcr and it would automatically program the recording time for that item.
Please read "Player Piano" by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. where he describes a world where most of the work is done by machines and computers and only engineers, scientists, and a few skilled artisans have any value. Everyone else does busy work as part of a giant welfare system.

Theres already a discussion of PS3 media server. I share my dvd-rom on my pc and pop PAL dvds in there and let it transcode them. I agree its totally lame that the function is not built in though, especially when its outputting HDMI I don't see why a TV that can handle true 24fps shouldnt be able to do PAL at 25.
I keep my content on a PC in another room and let that transcode it on-the-fly when a choose the content through the XMB. Works with multiple audio tracks, embedded and external subs, and whatnot.

The Jaggies are actually far worse with Component. I got my Wii from a store and had to wait for my components to arrive for like 2 weeks from Hong Kong since the in-store prices were absurd. When I switched from composite to component on my 42" Panasonic Plasma, I immediately noticed the sharpness and color saturation difference, but also that I could see the jaggies everywhere where before it was just a blurry mess.
I have an AT&T contract, a computer I leave on 24/7, and a 20/5 Mbit cable connection. The AT&T service in my medium size rental ranges from poor to mediocre depending on where you stand, so this device would improve my voice quality for a lot less money than switching contracts to another carrier who could easily have equally awful service in my area. I suspect theres enough people like me to make it worthwhile.
Even the cheapest local only phone service, especially after hidden taxes and fees, is monumentally more expensive than the cost of leaving a pc on 24/7.

Someone recently watched Zeitgeist: The Movie?

Theres a small handfull of movies that cannot be copied but most have been available before retail release for two years or so.

Yea I haven't heard of this transfer cap since compuserve and 28.8kb modems. I've got 20/1 (as tested by fcc) with no cap.

A mythbox also can't access 1/3 of my cable channels.

You mean it enables the IT guys to go home sooner since the processing gets done faster so they have more time to look at porn?

More likely they will die alone and forgotten, because only that "trusted" 3rd party method will allow for monetization.
Seriously nobody should complain about the lack of Win7 driver support for cards that game out before XP SP1.

There was content there? I failed to find it.

This sounds very interesting. Do have any published work on that project or maybe a webpage?
