Hey those fans are great to lull you to sleep. There's just nothing quite like the steady whir and occassional buzzing of a half dozen 3" fans to calm your nerves!
But that's forcing the linux newbie to skip linux-user status and go straight to linux-admin status. I think that's one reason more people don't use linux. Most people don't want to be an administrator; they want to be a user and get their work done. Should we stop using automatic transmissions so that drivers better understand how the car works? ( I know it's not a perfect analogy; just making an illustration. Let's not start a flame war )
Just one minor detail. Software can be produced very quickly and shoved out to market because you can always release a patch later. In the auto world, there may not be a chance for SP1. I would much rather see software development more closely resemble this F1 production rather than the other way around.
He was agreeing with the previous comment that he would stick to Mozilla because he didn't have the option of using Konqoeror. He then proceeded to explain why he didn't have that option and was left with Mozilla.
Read the comment carefully before replying. He never said he had to leave WM to use Opera or KDE. He said he had to either leave WM to use Konqueror or run WM and KDE, neither of which he is willing to do. He never even used the word "Opera" in his comment. It's not brain surgery.
I believe part of the protection is an audio watermark which would not be eliminated by your solution. It would defeat any other protections though as far as I can imagine.
I would think it would be harder to hold their neck straight out rather than up. How do they know that they didn't have bigger hearts that could handle pumping the blood up there? Or maybe some additional smaller hearts to help it along. Maybe I missed the point
Why did we only go for one extra point? Kick 'em while they're down! =)
Yes, this is a poor attempt at humor

/. is character development and frustration management. By spending a while here at/. we become more efficient workers....yeah...that's it. Think my boss'll buy it?
And between which of my impossible deadlines am I supposed to read this? I guess we better be reading this book befoer we are ever given the deadlines or it kinda defeats the purpose
Wouldn't a cell phone flood the satelites. I think that's why people are asked not to use them in commercial air planes. She will be a good bit higher than a commercial jet won't she?
I think having two rotating cylinders might be more efficient. The torque from one would counter act the other and not waste any spin. Still would take a good bit of doing. Especially getting those cylinders into space.
I think I've heard rumors that the Gov uses it, but then again there are a lot of different rumors. I think it'd be great short range, but wouldn't power diminish as the signal spreads over a greater area and encounters interference. I suppose the radio stream could be focus and help, but then if the power reciever is moving, the projector will have to follow along aiming.
But then you'd have a bottleneck at the cd-rom. It will take much longer to read data from the cd-rom than it would the HDD. I think any benefits gained from free resources and a more efficient OS would be dwarfed by the slow read speads.
There is an undeniable force drawing us to do what hasn't been done before; to do what "can't" be done; to boldly go where no man has gone before! err....anyway...Yes it would have been developed and maybe even better. Men are constantly striving to break the limits of knowledge and physics because they love the challenge. Getting rid of patents would get rid of money-grubbers and maybe even improve the end-product.
I think we ought to apply for these patents just for the fun of it. I bet we'd get a couple. Then we can show everyone else how rediculous this all is and we can all laugh at the Patent Office together. How much money is involved in applying for/getting a patent?
I wonder if the techs even know about it or had any say in it. It sounds more like management expects the IT staff to be able to wave their magic wand and make everything work now that they only have one kind of machine. Uh...yeah. I would expect it to have very little impact on the ease of their job. That's just my opinion though.
Where's the review on which helmets best protect the head from this awful radiation? I may be getting a cell phone soon and I don't know which helmet to buy. Standard motorcycle? Fencing mask? Steel Colander? People must be crazy to use one of these things without proper protection. At least I'll know when I'm walking down the street with my full size helmet that I won't be mistaken for one of those weird people putting all that radiation in their head. I feel sorry for them. They must be so embarassed.

I agree that the "third world country" card is overplayed, but somehow I don't think it's their choice to live there so stupidity is hardly a given.
When does open troll season come in?
With submissions coming in by the hundreds, I don't think personalized messages would be practical. That's my opinion anyway.

You can't own open source software unless you write it completely yourself. The GPL IS a license.
Would this lockbox be camoflauged with liscense agreements also? You MUST remember that the key to success is strategery.

I'll put a little more stock in that data when I hear of scientists finding fossilized organs. You can only infer so much from bones

How is the above post overrated? Surely there are more worthy comments to use your points on.

What about creating waves in the field pulsing up and down a couple hundred times per second or something?
