The US Government should be relieved that Wikileaks 'cablegate' portrayed them in a relatively positive light, meaning that the backlash will be minimal from a domestic standpoint.
95 per cent of those leaked memos were incredibly well written and well reasoned, with one paragraph that might be sensitive
And the other 5% are the ones that cause a scandal. And while they may help garner domestic support (which is unlikely, because the media only covers that 5%), diplomacy could get a lot trickier when you have to explain your conversations with others.
Before I get modded into oblivion for this, all I'm not passing judgement on Wikileaks in either direction. Leaking can be argued as being necessary depending on the situation, but saying that the US government should be happy about it is just ridiculous.
Not much of a techie, but would it be possible to hack the webcam so that it shows goatse or something similar? It'd stop them spying, that's for sure:p
Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about the law in France
Yes, but where is the line drawn at? If they include the headlines along with the various gimmics, could they be seen as news shows? Sure they're trashy, almost as much as our currentaffairs shows (Non-Aussie's: these two shows are tabloid crap, flitting from moral outrage to shameless advertisement in the space of a few seconds). But I doubt that a sense of taste comes into legalities
This isn't limiting freedom of speech. Granted it sucks (I know in Australia we've had all kinds of stupid/funny "if we get x followers on twitter we'll do y" things on breakfast shows that this sort of thing would stomp on were it here), but it doesn't have anything to do with civil rights.
CC-NC Means that you can't use it commercially without the consent of the author. IANAL, but surely there could just be a waiver included that allowed Google to use the video for commercial use or something like that (aren't ToS counted as contracts?)
I'm using a Lenovo s10-3t at the moment, running unity. It's fantastic for touch screens, and because my screen is so small the fact that the launch bar auto hides to maximise screen space is fantastic. The biggest frustration is if you are trying to navigate with a mouse (because you have dirty/sticky fingers, for example). The interface isn't much fun if you use a mouse, so you end up using the keyboard for everything (Super brings up the launcher, from which you can just use the search bar to select whatever you want). Other than that, it works pretty well
In the original Hebrew, the word used is yom which can be translated to mean anything from a day to a year or an undetermined length of time (Sorry, source is evidently biased. I'd heard it before and this was the best Google could turn up). As it is, the whole argument over young earth/generally accepted age is stupid. If your a Christian and the age of the Earth is that important to you, then you're doing it wrong.
Really, why should we get rid of MA15+? The end result would be that we get a few extra games and other than that the system is the same - just that what was formerly restricted (at least in theory) to 15 year olds would be restricted to 18 year olds instead.
I can't really say it surprises me though. This was covered in the news a while ago, and they were pushing it on the "think of the children" front - boosting everything with violence up into R18+ to supposedly keep it out of the hands of minors
I recall discussion a while back - I think it was when wikileaks had their domain names shut down - of how such a system would work: Some sort of peer-to-peer network that took the control away from any government anywhere in the world.
If you don't want to pay for one of the "gloves" that Moryath described, you can download packages off the internet (some of which are free) that, if used correctly, are said to cause a layer of insulating hair to grow on your Palm. Hwever, you may want to do this at home to avoid awkward conversations with supervisors. WARNING - If your screen starts to fade to black, stop immediately.

Please, I'm genuinely interested

Don't click - if you ignore the attack site warning, it's Tubgirl. Now please excuse me, I need to go bleach my eyes.
My kingdom for mod points!
I wish I had mod points. Thanks for the chuckle

I would say here something that was heard from an ecclesiastic of the most eminent degree: "The intention of the Holy Spirit is to teach us how one goes to heaven, not how the heavens go."
Maybe he just didn't want his picture taken while signing this bill.
Can you blame him? Shit like this makes me think that we're losing the so-called war on terror

Of course, you can't do that until you've signed the paper with Paul Erdos

If all 23,000 customers refused to settle. Would the Copyright Group drop the charges, or would they take them all to court?
If you run firefox, install greasemonkey and the Moderatrix script. It adds a confirmation button to the mod system
Some things should remain buried...

Please tell me that the site has backups
Misread my own comment, mods, please sink this thing
And I just realised that I misread my post. There's no typo, now I feel like a complete ass
That should be should, not shouldn't. I need to learn to proof-read properly...
Aww crap, typo. I meant to say should, I was concentrating on other stuff when I posted that. Sorry about that, people
