The driver called police to say the cruise control of his Renault Vel Satis had jammed while overtaking a lorry, and that all attempts to brake or put the automatic into neutral had failed, police said Tuesday.
it's just I don't think I need 22.5" and 9 millions of them....
a 19" (or 20, with anything bigger I have to start moving my head at desk distance) 5mp would do. Not quite the density and not quite the size and hopefully REALLY not quite that prize...
oh well, like so many things, just a few years away...;-)
...that digicams will produce in 2008 or whenever longhorn will hit the streets...:-)
seriously though, try running noise removal software like neatimage over a batch of 6MP pics of today and you are glad you already have 2Gigs of ram on your machine and wish you had a 10Ghz cpu in there.
or trying to keep all those 36MB photoshop files of the 1000s of pics you take and you'll understand how a few 100gigs of disk is quite limiting...;-)
Considering that consumer ccd's have pixels for 3 different colors and that the total count is advertised, while in the rovers case it's just 1 million b/w pixel sensors and using 3 filters in front of the lens and making 3 pictures and mending them afterwards....
in PR speak the rovers camera is more of a 3mp camera anyway....
(kinda like the Foveon sensors)
so yeah, one BIG explanation for the quality.
The others being kick-ass lens (pros don't spend 1000s of $ for a lense for nothing), and a bigger image sensor (each pixel is more light sensitive)
> the first time they tried it, the humans broke ranks and just ran away from the orcs. What does that say?
Actually according to TTT extended version DVDs, the AI's in the back just started running away from the battle. The reason being that they had programmed the AIs to start running in random directions if they coudn't see an enemy AI, hoping that like this the AIs would run into an ennemy sooner or later. If your AI is at the back of a 10000 people uruquai army, then this strategy won't really work, so they changed it...
was wondering if anybody nows if they as well improved the sound output quality of the ipods!
I read some reviews of other devices and apparently some of them seem to sound way better than the older ipods (at least according to the reviewers)....
Don't think they sounded like shite to boot with, but would be cool if they improved on that as well...
I really liked it. A lot. Not really as good as the first one, but this one was harder to do (separate stories, locations).
What is disturbing me now a bit is: Were those cheap shots to make people laugh really necessary. Gimli for example. Was it really necessary to turn a fierce dwarf warrior into a whiny fighting clown (am exagerating)....
didn't ruin it by no means, but I think I would have preferred without it.
I mean it's bloody LOTR. I don't expect to go there to laugh my butt off...
It's simply that nobody thinks in terms of prevention and roots/causes of illness, but only in terms of cures, symptoms relief...
So all the money available is being channeled to cure research and none to cause/prevention research. (herbizides/pestizides/heavy metals/... nutrition and the like in the case of cancer)
maybe it's better because it's a heck a lot smaller and simpler and could potentially be made into a add-on card or maybe even directly added to mobos????
looks like Apple has been listening!
15 hours versus meagerly 8 hours of the last
models....;-)

"special rights for people just because they're gay"
mmmhhh, isn't it that marriage is a special right for people just because they are straight?????"
if you're a homophobe at least admit to it and don't try to cloud in some stupid 'special rights' aversion blabla

PS yeah, I know, don't feed the trolls...;-)

> Legislation should be avoided until it proves necessary.
you mean like when massive amounts of people die from it, or something???
not trying to flamebait here, but could you maybe elaborate a bit what you mean by 'proves necessary'
haven't they already shown that nano-particles can go through pretty much any barrier the human body has and show up in any part of your body???

Maybe I am a misfit, but heck I am virtually never at home, except for sleeping, watching dvds or cooking....

great battery life????
what are you talking about???? the new ipods have a battery life of a meager 8hours or something. The older ones were better(12 hours or so).
The Rio Karma and other ones have 16hours..
the battery life of the IPod is THE reason I haven't bought one yet. It just ain't enough...

nothing to see here, move on....
read in a few reviews of other mp3 players that
some seem to sound consicerably better than the
ipods (at least according to the reviewers).
{Am by no means saying that the old ones sounded
shite, only that there seems to be room for
improvement, that's all.}
So I was wondering if they improved on the sound
output quality in addition to hd capacity and form
factor and features...
just curious...

beyond moon orbit for the JWST???
Which probably means neither repair nor
upgrade possibilities like with hubble...
a sunshield the size of a tennis court???
good thing there's less space trash in that
far off orbit...:-)
Pbase is a volunteer effort that was free until
recently. They don't have ads, reasonably fast,
use linux....
no printing service though...
didn't in old gnome versions simply telling nautilus
not to draw the desktop (somewhere in the nautilus
preferences) take care of that????
sweet...:-)
as a non native english speaker I had
no bloody clue about the correct use of
begging the question...

Part of that problem can be solved by a
tabbed terminal like multi-gnome-terminal.
Does such a one exist for Mac OS X??
I just reduced the number of virtual desktops
to half with the tabbed terminal (8 now)
One of those things that make you wonder, how
you ever managed to work before you had it...
stop....doing...that...!!!!!!
can't get my team and user stats since
2 days, because of the increase in traffic

neeed.. know... user/team... stats
seriously though:
good to see they are getting tons of new
users lately
I think the reason is even more fundamental.
