As a Linux user, I think this is a great business move on the part of canonical.. It is very important that we have choice software... but for Linux to success, the companies backing need to have a focus.
What are you talking about??? who is talking about fundamentalists?
You should learn something about the Muslim world other than what you see on the news channels. Its not the dark and gloomy place its made out to be. Please ask yourself what do you know about it aside from what you hear on the news.
One thing you MIGHT learn from reading up on things is that the oppression of women is not in any way part of Islam, its all unsophisticated cultural rituals that uneducated people inject into their societies.
Yes, its a big world, you should try reading up on it. I'm from Tajikistan, I live in the US now, I moved here 5 years ago. Technology and economy-wise we are very similar to Kazakhstan. Please stop being a dumb redneck and attend your local community college as soon as possible before you hurt yourself by thinking too hard.
"The former USSR was developed - the countries that came from it most likely more so." ROFLMAO

"Mostly Persians, with roots in Khorasan - writing in Arabic."
"Needless to say, Iranian civilization ain't what it used to be."
I just have to clarify that Khorasan is modern day Afghanistan - It was part it was part of Persia, but it isn't Iran. Its a common misconception that people think Persia = Iran. In fact, Persia included (at a time) a lot, of not all of, the ---istan countries. "istan" is the the Persian suffix meaning land. Analogous to Scotland, Ireland.

I didn't expect some kind of Spanish inquisition.
Nobody expects the Spanish inquisition!
I am sick and tired of people (mostly atheists) confusing Christianity and Religion. Stop it. He was critical of Christianity not "Religion"

So? 90% of the people on Slashdot are Apple fans(boys)... so obviously they don't have strong feelings in favor of opensource :S
