Sega will still be developing software (read the article...) All the issues you mentioned are software based, not hardware based. Just because they will not make any new consoles doesn't preclude them from doing business as usual from the software end.
I seriously doubt Sega will develop for the Indrema... there's very little chance it will ever seen the kind of market penetration to make game development for it profitable. Especially with such a big name-brand as Sega, who could easily sell hundreds of thousands of copies for the more estabilished consoles... why waste energy and effort on a bit player?
I haven't seen anything to make me believe that Sega will stop supporting the Dreamcast. The DC is already out there - Sega has been developing "only" software for it for over a year now - precisely what they intend to keep on doing. Just because there will be no new Sega consoles in the near future doesn't mean that the DC will kick the bucket as well.
What's with all the ridiculous (and juvenile) "M$" nonsense? I can still play most games on Win95 (which runs just fine on 5 year old hardware). If you want to complain about having to upgrade, blame the game developers. Show me a modern, state-of-the-art game that doesn't require a half-gig of hard drive space, and the latest video card and 128MB of RAM to run optimally. Yes, the upgrades are part of the PC experience, but let's place the blame where it really lies, not where our prejudices lie.
The only insanity that I see here is the one that gets covered by the definition: "Insanity is doing the same things over and over again even though you get the same bad result every time."....
The only sane vote is for Harry Browne...
Who was the last independent candidate voted into the Presidency? Personally, I don't know if there were ANY. Therefore, voting for Browne would very neatly fit into your description of insanity.

If I had mod points, I'd rate the previous topic header as "redundant"
And you're conveniently ignoring the fact that MS almost always releases "hotfixes" as soon as problems are found. Service Packs simply put several fixes in one package.
Well, if I based my choice of OS on the "flair" of the rollouts I might give a crap. But since I'm much more concerned with how the OS lets me do my work, I could care less.
Most of those games were just clones of each other. Goldeneye begat Perfect Dark, Mario 64 begat Banjo-Kazooie and Zelda (Yes, the design and gameplay is very similar to Mario 64 in many respects)
"The simple proof that microsoft don't steal GPL code is that there software would come out on time, and it would not have so many bugs if it they were actually stealing Code.:) "
Then how the hell do you explain Mozilla?????
The "spy box"? Aren't we being a *little* paranoid? I personally could care less who knows when I watch wrestling/sitcoms/whatever. I'd rather have marketing targeted towards *me* personally than the general population.
4) Skip all ads. ReplayTV took the approach of "screw the networks, we don't need 'em" and added a 30 second skip button. Since then, they've hired a former CBS exec and have realized that they will have to work with the networks in the future. The skip button is still there, but it is never advertised.
Not true - on their website, the 30 sec skip is prominently featured, and listed as one of the big advantages over TiVO
[i]So replace it with a function to "skip to the next mostly-black frame", since such frames typically occur right before returning from commercial break. The networks can't really do away with such screens, since otherwise the transitions between commercial/show would be far too jarring for viewers.
If that happened, I'd feel sorry for Frasier fans...
How has Nintendo gotten their act together, if games are their main problem? I haven't played any games for the Cube, have you? Kind of hard to make a judgement on that, don't you think?
Side note - the PSX came out in September 1995. The N64 wasn't available until Fall 96.
