Easiest solution is all servers run ntpdate every minute against a single host within the network. Drifting averaged about 20ms with that simple solution.

"The Internet of Things" is so dumb. It was never called "The Internet of Computers" when computers were hooked up, and technically all these "things" have computers in them. 11. What is up with this article? What about closed-sourced apps like ISS or windows, with tons and tons of vulnerabilities found (and some fixed) every week? Because there have been a very small handful in some high-profile open-source projects means open source doesn't work?

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. If anything, because those bugs were found and fixed shows that open source DOES work. If they were closed products, those bugs may likely still exist and No Such Agency may likely still be exploiting them. Not to mention all the back-doors they force into closed-source software, which is harder to do with open source in the first place.

The point is, for something to be secure you have to be able to audit it. In the open source world, you can do this. In the closed source world, you have 0 ability to confirm that something is secure, you are just taking a salesperson's word for it. THAT is lack of security awareness.

There is no surprise, there is no twist, there is nothing to keep you thinking about afterwards. I still think of plots from various episodes and movies, like Generations. To be able to have long discussions with people, was Picard right in how he ended The Nexus? In my opinion, he basically made all the lives killed by Soran except the last system to be lost in vain.. when really he could have used the Nexus to cause peace across the universe, basically holding power similar to Q..

What is thought provoking, or otherwise entertaining about the last star trek movie? Cheap effects, cheap "Hero Rush" elements all over (well I shouldn't say cheap, it cost a bajillion dollars to make, when the original Star Trek episodes were done for a budget less than a Corporate banquet these days..)

I just wish they would go back to the original... Why use the "Star Trek" name if you aren't going to use the Star Trek universe or anything along the themes it carried for decades? Why not just make a sequel to a terminator movie, or "Die Hardest in Space" if you're going for just mindless explosions.

That's not unusual at all. It draws a clear line between what is allowed and what is not. Would you prefer vague guidelines like "for private consumption" vs. "for sale", or "small amounts"? Having strict and easily to check guidelines also avoids wasting time on law enforcements and court costs. 100 grams, and the police lets you go. 101 grams, the hold you and take you to court. Whether you're guilty or innocent, it is _clear_ which one, and that is a good thing Obviously you shouldn't try to go to the extreme limit of what's allowed. If your scales say you have 100 grams, but your scales are off and you really have 101, that's no excuse. Just stay below 90 and you're fine.

I think parent was questioning why any limit at all, as in what makes possessing 101g turn you into an evil anti-american, versus an upstanding 99g toter.
